I think Bijani nailed it, Portland has fared better against Utah and Golden State this year. If they throw the game tonight the 4/5 is a lock. If that happens, we would be the 3 seed going up against OKC in round 1 unless Denver loses to Minnesota, or OKC loses to Milwaukee. The Bucks are resting their starters tonight, Paul George is questionable.

Ideally, I would love to see Portland and Denver lose tonight. OKC, San Antonio, and Clippers win.

I was wondering what the hell was wrong with Portland thinking they wanted to play Utah and then GS. If they nab the 3 spot, they avoid Houston and GS until the WCF.

To me the wiser option is to consider your likely 2nd round opponent. Because if you can't beat OKC, you have no business worrying about a playoff run anyway.

With Nurkic injured, they don't stand a chance against OKC. They're just trying to win one playoff series and they think Utah is their best bet. They starting center is Enes Kanter.

Conversely does Sacramento benefit in the draft with a loss? It ties them with 2 east teams if they lose.
