The Pelicans got better without him. He's another Dwight Howard type

You guys clown Westbrook as an empty numbers guy, the guy we've been discussing all day here is the epitome of empty numbers guy and the market just proved it.

And...he almost made it through Summer League...

As I've thought about the cousins situation more, it makes me wonder what his agent was doing.

Even if they received no phone calls, if GS was willing to sign him for $5 mm, why doesn't the agent get on the phone with a few other teams and at least see if they are interested in a 1-year deal for $9 million?

I remember the Kings getting crushed for the somewhat paltry return on the Cousins trade to NO, but the market for him must really be in the crapper. (Although I'm still surprised the Lakers signed who they signed but drew the line on Cousins.)

Would you rather rehab for a team that needs you to play as soon as possible or for a team with the best facilities in the nation that doesn't even need you to ever play a minute and also, they are the overwhelming favorite to win a title? If you go to the team that needs you as soon as possible, you score a little extra cash.

I read that multiple teams were putting together offers ranging from the full MLE to ~15mm. Maybe none of those had technically been offered yet because he accepted the GS offer pretty quickly and everyone was working through the roster building exercise.

There's some exaggeration going on here, probably because he's trying to garner sympathy and set up his rebranding/comeback story.

The Lakers are going to suck. The dust is clearing from their FA moves. And supposedly, guys like Rondo, Stephenson, and JaVale are apart of this master plan for LeBron to play closer to the basket and reduce his usage rate. I must be missing something because that looks like a borderline lottery team to me.

Depends how Lonzo and Ingram progress but yea...that roster is not great. Just doesn't make any sense of what kind of identity they want to be.

Magic's faith in Ingram and Ball could make or break his tenure. I read Ingram was training with the same sports performance team that was training Oladipo last off-season, in theory, he could be poised for a big season.

Only they just signed a guy that plays 36 minutes per game at his same position and happens to be the second best of all time.

Lebron can play any position on the court. Ingram isn't going to come off the bench.

LeBron spends 98% of his minutes at SF/PF. So does Ingram and Kuzma. We will probably see more of Bron at center. But we probably aren't seeing either Ingram or Bron winding down to play many minutes at SG.

What the Lakers are going to do with minutes will be very interesting.

Lonzo/Rondo
KCP/Hart
Ingram/Stephenson
LeBron/Kuzma
Javale/Mo/Zubac

Good luck with that locker room, Walton.

Lebron better play some C because I don't know how a Kawhi-Ingram-Lebron lineup works otherwise.

I wonder if LAL plans to let Walton coach this year then ditch him for someone more experienced next year.

LBJ is the most flexible player in the league. Classifying his min by 'traditional roles' is meaningless. He's more of a Point Forward than anything. Perfect mesh with any team. (Lonzo and Rondo on the other hand...i have no idea why they signed Rajon or how they plan to use him)

I'm not worried about LeBron. I'm worried about the matchup problems the other guys especially the 20 year old end up having

Walton is going to definitely earn his money this year. He has the best player in the league trying to move off-ball, several new faces on the team, has a bunch of pieces that seem counter to today's NBA, many of his guys are known head-cases, and is coaching the Lakers.

Kuzma, Ingram, and LeBron could coexist IMO. The real issue is at PG with Lonzo and Rondo. 8x out of 10, fans are going to be scratching their heads why LeBron, one of the most efficient offensive players ever, isn't leading the offense while Lonzo and Rondo suck.

The Pistons waived Josh Smith and stretched his salary over 5 years back in 2014.

He makes $5.4mm this year and next year. Or more than Boogie Cousins.

With very little going into their roster after acquiring Lebron I feel like they're looking towards 2019 to sign younger talent. Lebron didn't go to L.A to struggle with making the playoffs.

Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard are two that could very well end up in L.A
