Billy Kennedy should be fired if his teams are going to play like this in big games. A 41 point loss on this stage. No discipline leading to ball handling troubles including 19 turnovers. The offense resulting in a bunch of bad 3s. With the talent Kennedy is coaching on the Rockets including the league MVP in Harden and a hall of fame PG in Paul there are no excuses for this. Fertitta should do what he needs to do to correct this.
What a weird ****in post

Sorry guys, crossed the line on the knee comment. I don't really want Curry to blow his knee out.

You know what will solve all our problems? Trading the league MVP in the offseason. Yep, that should do it.

He is doing the same thing he has done in every playoff game his whole career. Turtling in big moments

Last night sucked but lol at the people in here calling for us to trade the MVP. This thread usually gets inundated with idiots at the beginning of the playoffs, this year it took until the WC Finals.

People seem to be forgetting that we're up against arguably one of the greatest teams ever. Yes we won 65 games, but this team has 4 freaking all-stars on it and a 5th guy who was Finals MVP less than 5 years ago. I believed we could put up a fight against them, but not with the crappy effort we showed up with games 1 and 3. It takes 4 perfect games to win this series and I'm not sure we can play perfect for 3 out of the next 4. We would beat all 30 other teams for a championship this year.

If I was GM I would look to deal Harden at the end of the season. Guy is Westbrook light and you are never going to win with him

Thank God you aren't the GM. What a moronic post

Has anyone noticed this effort thing is a constant across the NBA playoffs? Teams seem to come out lackadaisical often or once they get behind the coast. Not many close games at all.

We came out flat but kept it in striking distance going in to half. This game was over in the first few minutes of the 3rd and everyone knew it. The effort from there is what turned this in to a monster blowout. We knew it was over and decided to coast to an embarrassing loss

If there is any team that wont care about getting blown out it is this one.

Yep, the article a couple weeks ago about LeBron coasting and resting while playing seems to be a common theme across the nba. A lot of walking up and down the floor. I think that's why its so refreshing to watch the Celtics. Their stars are out and they're the only team in the NBA that HUSTLES and plays TEAM defense.

The narrative of what happened last night is completely dependent on what they do tomorrow night.

You can be annoyed with the swings in this HOU/GS series, but the above take as it relates to Lebron is insane.

Lebron has earned the right to coast. He's logged more baskeball minutes (between the playoffs and Olympics) than any other player in the league BY A MILE. He's 33, has already stacked 3 rings, and is the only player on his team bringing his consistent best. He can take plays off, and he must in order to continue to shoulder that load. It has nothing to do with a lack of hustle. GTFO with that. If Lebron was 20 yrs old like Tatum and Brown, he'd be running like a wild man all over the place.

This. Win tomorrow night and WGAS how much you lost by. You have a home court best of three.

I wasn't saying it's a good thing, I'm saying there's several stars that do this. Harden walks up the floor constantly. He was much better during the regular season on defense, he's reverted to his old ways during the playoffs on defense letting guys go by him constantly.

It'll be interesting to see what they decide to do. Do they play more of Looney and Bell? Or do they let West play? If they play more Looney/Bell, I think that benefits us since we'll be able to play Capela more.

Just as a casual NBA fan that is rooting for the Rockets -- whether it is due to fatigue or just laziness, Houston got absolutely out-hustled in G3. It sucks that the layups weren't falling but you can accept that happens -- but GS in the first 2 quarters got so many second chance points simply because nobody on Houston boxed out or went hard for the rebound.

Whether it's due to Harden's lack of real leadership or not, the whole team seems to take on a persona that when things aren't going easy (shots aren't falling), they just fold.

There was definitely just a lack of effort and hustle last night compared to game 2. We reverted to game 1 and ditched the up tempo driving and dishing out sequences that helped so much in game 2. Really don't understand why they chose to not play that way, just bizzare that it works so well game 2 and they still abandon it. They need to get their heads out of their asses and play to win. Jacking up 3s in iso after holding the ball for 15 seconds doesn't get you anywhere against a team like this.

The simple fact is that GS is the better team that Houston simply needs to play a near perfect game on Offense. You can't have Tucker, Gordon, and Ariza only get 27 pts combined on 6-24 shooting.
  • Gordon played like sh*t in the first half. Reverting more to a hero ball kind of play that resulted in more turnovers than made baskets.
  • Ariza played so passive. He had multiple opportunities with 1-1 matchup against Steph and he either deferred or allowed GS to switch from that favorable matchup.
  • Capela does alot of great things, but he can't get beat that badly in rebounds. You can't afford to give GS multiple looks. Idk what you can do about this other than coaching up his awareness to box out better.

Also, Moute needs to go. The dude is burnt toast. Every minute he gets on the court, gives GS a +1 man advantage. His shoulder injury has crippled his game and he's officially a liability to have (ESPECIALLY on offense).

Defensively, obviously the name of the game is simply effort. You'll never shut down Klay, Steph, AND KD. It's not possible. But that doesn't mean you have to concede open shots. Houston needs to find a way to play a consistently high motor defense.

For the last few months, I thought next year was Anderson's last year in his deal. Just realized we have him for two more years.

I love Morey, but with the exception of Luol Deng contract, I think Anderson's deal must be the worst deal in the league right now. $20 million/year and he can't get on the floor in the playoffs. Just awful.

Edit: Chandler Parsons is actually the worst contract, so I guess Anderson's is the 3rd worst.

Nobody is touching Chandler Parsons' contract. Joakim Noah and Luol Deng are 2 and 3. At least Ryan Anderson saw the court this year.
