Tim Duncan has more championships wins than the Rockets have playoff series wins since he joined the league.
The Spurs won 50 games or more every year, except the strike shortened 1999 season, which if you are counting is 18 out of 19 seasons, during his career. Never missed the playoffs.
Only a certifiable moron would not pick Duncan as a player to build a team around for long term, sustained success in the NBA.

Not only that but he's one of the best teammates of all time. The way he went about his business and set the tone ensured that the players listened to Popovich and prevented the mini locker room rebellions that other teams suffered. Plus, he peacefully coexisted with two other Hall of Fame players and gave them enough chances to shine that they never felt the need to chase glory somewhere else.
That attitude is always overlooked in favor of stats because it's intangible and far more subjective, but consider Kobe and Shaq. Two top ten all time players that likely could have won another few championships together if they could have found a way to get along. Their attitudes unequivocally cost them both rooms. Duncan's on the other hand gained him (and his team) rings.

Most people have Kobe in the 8-10 range. I rarely see him ranked outside of 10.
Hard to put Hakeem over him since Kobe has five rings

2007: This one's tough to say. Other than the Phoenix series, San Antonio's 2007 playoff run was such a massacre that it didn't even matter who the best player was (and nobody clearly rose to the top). That Finals in particular was absolutely embarrassing. The Spurs played like they were uninterested/hungover for long stretches and still easily swept it (while shutting down LeBron).
2014: Kawhi was the best player in the Finals, though that was an incredibly balanced team.

So you pretty much admit Kawhi, Parker, and Manu were as good or better than Duncan in 3 of the years. Call a spade a spade. Duncan was given the perfect opportunity to win a bunch of rings. We get it, you aren't old enough to really remember most of those playoffs, but I'm sure you watched a ton of them on Youtube. If you knew anything about them or about basketball you would have never said Robinson was better than Duncan in any of the title years.
Manu played great in 05, but he wasn't better than Duncan.

In 2007, Parker was the leading scorer in the Finals, that was mainly because Cleveland had no one that could come close to playing defense there. Cleveland had Larry Hughes and Boobie Gibson at PG. Take advantages of mismatches. For the playoffs, Duncan led the team in scoring, rebounding and blocks. Duncan was still unquestionably the leader of the team and the team's best player. Duncan was All-NBA first team and all-defense first team in 2007. No other Spurs were All-NBA and the only other Spurs on All-Defense was Bowen. Duncan was 4th in MVP voting. So your argument that Duncan wasn't the MVP of his own team is beyond idiotic.
2014 is the only team where you have a case for Duncan not being the best player on the team. That was the first NBA team ever to not have a single player average 30mpg. No player on the team averaged 17 or more points per game. Kawhi was starting to show flashes of who he would become, he averaged 12.8p and 6.2r for the season. Duncan still led the team in rebounds and blocks, but he was about a point and a half off Parker for leading the team in points. Duncan also led the team in PER. This was the Spurs team that really didn't have any stars. They won by great passing and defense.
Duncan was unquestionably the best player on four of his five title teams. In the 5th, he was unquestionably the leader, but no one player really stood out as the star of the team.
Unless you are trolling, these arguments show you don't have a very firm grasp on this aspect of NBA history. Not surprising considering your previous posts.
Pure talent and athleticism it's Dream and it's not even really close. Team wise and making people better around you it's Duncan. He did have better guys around him at the peak of his career which made a huge difference but he also made the guys around him better I believe. Dream had a stretch from 87-91 when he was just a freak of nature, played with some bad players but was also pissed half the time about his contract so wasn't really trying to make the guys around him better. When he added the H to Akeem and got closer to his religion is when he became a more complete teammate and started making everyone around him better. Comparing them is really hard to do and silly. But if you ask me who wins one on one at the peak of their career it's Dream. Not an individual sport though.
It sounds like you're using talent as a synonym did athleticism, because in overall basketball talent, Duncan was every bit as gifted. Duncan's defensive instincts, especially with help defense, were incredible, as was his ability to connect with his teammates on offense and predict their actions.

...But if we are going to divulge...I met Duncan his rookie year at an Iguanas game when I was 10 years old. TRUST ME. There is no way he was 1/20th the player of Dream.
I had a photoshoot with Hakeem and the pictures I shot were up on billboards in Houston for over a year.
I dunked on Robinson in 99. However old man Dream blocked my shot into the 5th row. It's settled.
