Does anyone think the Mavericks could catch the thuggets and hold off Portland for the 8th seed?

I'm thinking the Mavericks are better off tanking at this point.

They are still right there, unfortunately they lost a couple games they really needed to win. I imagine its going to come down to the last week...and I agree, overall we are probably better off losing a ton to end the season. I also don't think it is in this team to let that happen.

What do y'all think of TNT's "no traditional play-by-play guy" experiment?

If they win tomorrow maybe. The only problem is the opponent is golden state. One of their last games is against the thuggets. Would be so awesome if that game was meaningful. I'd like to see the kids on their team get playoff experience.

If they drop a few more tho.... they need to become allergic to winning and just drop every game. Get the best draft pick you can. Even tho this organization doesn't take the draft seriously.

Dallas should shut it down now, or at least try to develop young talent.

They sit at the 10th worst record, but of the 14 non-playoff/lottery teams, 11 sit between 26 and 34, and Dallas is right in the middle at 30 wins. The problem is given Carlisle and Dirk, they are more likely to work themselves to the 13th or 14th draft spot now, instead of 3rd - 6th, plus losing out on the decreased lottery odds.

Believe it or not, that's actually what they are doing.

Apparently Adam Silver also has a problem with teams resting players. New guidelines say that the league must be given advanced notice when resting healthy players. I have a feeling this is just the start of a new rule that will be implemented in the offseason.

Good luck with that silver. Things are just going to say that they are resting for precautionary measures because of a previous injury because they don't want other teams to prepare for the change

We need more James Hardens in the league who choose not to rest even with the 3 seed in strong hold without much possibility of moving up or down

I want to call him a ball hog for taking 40 shots, but his coach (or more likely his GM + team president) have benched Phoenix's 3 other best players for no discernible reason, and it's not like Phoenix was a good team even when they had those 3. There's nobody else playing that's worth anything.

On another note, can you imagine tuning into your team's game, and then watching somebody on the other team shoot 26 FTs? Can you imagine the pure rage that experience would create? I'd be scanning the white pages for the ref's address.

Kobe used to take 40 shots about every fourth game. Also booker made 21 of them so it's not like he was inefficient. And the 26 free throws isn't that crazy considering how much he had the ball in his hand going to the bucket.

I absolutely hate when people do that. I saw somebody do it in one of the march madness games and I cussed them out from my table. So selfish, but not quite as selfish as pushing your teammates out of the way to get rebounds.
