It's true that none of it made sense to anyone who follows the Spurs. Except a few who just don't think LA will ever be a champion. LA himself being unhappy just seemed far fetched at best. He's in a great situation.

That being said, is there any organization better at going all KGB on reporters? I read this and immediately pictured Jackie McMullen sitting in her house with the lights off nervously smoking. Just waiting for the assassin to show.

I think it could be worse than that. At some point she might have to ask Pop a question at a presser.

Headed out to the game tonight to see these guys in action. Will be really weird to go and not see Timmy out there.

I haven't been able to follow anything this preseason. I think I may need to print out a roster with pictures so I can figure out who all these new guys are.

Green out for 3 weeks with a quad injury. It should give more time for Anderson to show his stuff.

I'll be really surprised if Forbes doesn't make the team. He's been the most consistent during the preseason. He can really shoot the ball and score off the dribble well. He's also surprisingly active on defense. He'd be a great addition to the bench.

Can't say I'm sad about it. I didn't like him when we drafted him and he never showed enough to even have a real shot at being an NBA player.

Always wanted him to work out. LJC passes the eye test but never played like an NBA player. Guess TP is a better player than GM.

I'm also glad the Spurs are keeping Laprovittola. He's a gritty point guard who can shoot the three ball. Good insurance if there are any injuries. Still don't understand the LJC signing. It was a short, expensive experiment at $2.5 mil.

I'm really excited about the roster this year. It'll be interesting to see how this team can keep pace with the up-tempo teams.

I don't know about the idiots part but agree Green's perimeter D will be sorely missed these first few weeks. Especially with no Timmy in the middle to anchor everything. Lets hope Pau can provide some kind of defense and learn the rotations quickly.

Danny Green struggled from 3 last year, which is his only redeeming quality on offense, and he still came out as a net positive because his defense is that good.

He's big enough to guard SG's and SF's, and disciplined/long enough to guard PG's when needed. There's not a lot of players in the NBA who can do that.

All the people crowing last season about trading/benching him are idiots.

I'll admit, however, that he needs to get back to 40% from deep. If he is a threat to drop bombs, Pau and Aldridge are going to bludgeon other teams to death down low. This starting 5 is going to be deadly on offense.

Oh I agree he's vital to this team even when his 3's aren't falling. I'm just less likely to call people idiots over it

I admittedly didn't watch much of Chicago last year so I'm interested to see how Pau's game looks this season. There's a lot of conflicting arguments out there on where he is at at this stage in his career. (just searching pau gasol focused articles from the last 6 or 8 months).

I think there's a lot of things to be excited about this year but it may take this team a while to find itself. DG being out this first few weeks certainly hinders that.

Pau is still pretty effective offensively, especially if he's matched up against teams' second best post defenders. Defensively he's decent at holding his ground and using his length to bother shots but he's not going to provide great help because of how slow he is.

As much as it sucks Timmy's gone, I'm excited to see Kawhi Unleashed.
