I haven't spent a bunch of time figuring out all the details, but the Warriors only have Durant, Thompson, and Green under contract next year. That's 62mm. They'll have to re-sign Curry, who was criminally underpaid at 12mm, and fill out a roster with 9 more players in a year when everyone will be looking to get a big paycheck with the cap going up. Great time to need one piece, bad time to need 3-5 solid players.
That Curry contract is what made the whole thing work, so it's possible that the Warriors' insurmountable talent advantage may be nearing it's end.
