I think he is saying he couldn't comment on the Rockets thread, because he said Fiers sucks on the Astros thread.

Think the team that wins on Tuesday wins the series (great theory, I know). We haven't had a single digit final score all series.

Did a quick search, don't see a line for Game 5 just yet.

Yea, the home team has been favored by 5 or 6 in pretty much every game so far even though none have finished close. I know the players won't do it, but as a fan I am already looking at game 6 as a HUGE game no matter the result of game 5. You are either trying to avoid elimination or going for the knockout to avoid a trip back to San Antonio.

We can beat the Spurs without Nene but we definitely would have needed all hands on deck against the Warriors.

He had an awesome season for us. Exactly what this team needed. I guess Harrell will be seeing more minutes, although he didn't yesterday.

Going to be crucial for Capela to stay out of foul trouble, but he cannot compromise his aggressiveness. I do not like Anderson defending in the post but something tells me you will see Ariza/Anderson at the 4/5 in spurts. Dantoni has been reluctant to play Trez but he may be forced to. I would also get Wiltjer in a uni and make Taylor inactive.

Nene was such a great pick up by Morey to play behind Capela this year. He has even carried us at times during the playoffs.

I'm sad to see him done and really hope he resigns with us next year.

What's the recover time for an injury like that? Will he be ready by the start of next season?

Also, as much as I love, Morey, he'll use this as an excuse as to why we didn't win a title, which he'll say is why no moves need to be made.

Looking at the averages in this series through 4 games:

Nene - 16.6 minutes - 6 points - 3 rebounds - 0 blocks
Capela - 26.7 minutes - 13.5 points - 10.3 rebounds - 2.8 blocks

Going to miss Nene's presence in the paint when Capela is not on the floor, but Clint is obviously having a much better series against the Spurs than he did against OKC. Shouldn't be tough to account for the 6 points and 3 rebounds Nene was averaging through 3 games, but Dantoni has to come up with an adjustment because you can bet your a** the Spurs will be attacking the paint when Capela is off the floor.

Yeah, I'm not worried about making up his offensive production. It's on the defensive end and on the glass that I'm worried about. The Spurs have already been killing us on the boards, especially on their end.

If we can't adjust and at least get a body on their bigs when Capela is off the court, they're going to destroy us on the boards.

If Pop folds first and puts a small lineup in, we win. If their bigs can be productive, it'll be close. I don't think they blow us out again in this series.

We will have to shoot pretty damn well again 2 of the next 3 games to win the series. They were destroying us down low and we couldn't stop it.

We have to force them into bad shots when they attack. You saw it last night a few times where Gasol, Aldridge, and Lee would get the ball just outside of the paint and instead of attacking the rim they would settle for short jumper or a little hook. The Spurs are better when someone like Kawhi, Mills, Ginobili, etc. are attacking the basket and putting up a shot because it draws multiple defenders leaving their bigs open for an easy shot or uncontested putback

Nene's importance to Houston > Parker's importance to San Antonio .... for this year's playoffs.

This might be controversial, but I actually think that Parker's absence has been a net positive for the Spurs against the Rockets. We were able to sag off of him and go under screens, knowing he wasn't a great shooter, which really helped our defense. He would have probably gone off in one of the games he ends up missing, but I think Simmons has played better than Parker would have overall.

GTFO. Parker was the Spurs 2nd leading scorer in the playoffs and was hitting 58% from three. To replace him, the Spurs are starting a 20 year old rookie who played ~300 minutes in the regular season and had only played garbage time minutes in the playoffs (DNP in three games)

Before he exited game 2 with the quad injury Parker was on the brink of entering NBA Jam fire mode. I think Simmons has played pretty well with an extended role and Murray has been average but you are comparing the Rockets backup center who averages 16 minutes to the Spurs starting point guard who has a ton of playoff experience

I actually agree with CoachRTM. Yes, losing Parker hurt, but it hasn't drastically changed their style of play. We are going to have to change how we play more when Capella is on the bench.

More and more I feel it's just not either of our years. (Rockets or Spurs.)

I hope that's the last of the injuries for both sides.

Capela has to stay out of foul trouble. We can't afford for him to lose minutes now because of that.

My question is why Dantoni is so against using Trez for those 16 minutes that Capela needs rest. I understand he hasn't been playing meaningful minutes so far in the playoffs but he is a capable defender/rebounder. He isn't the scoring threat that Capela is, but if Nene was only averaging 6 points a game you don't need much to replace that production, couple of put-backs maybe.

I've actually been pleasantly surprised by Anderson's defense. I say this with the realization that for his size he is a horrible defender. However, since all LMA is effective at is turnaround, fade away mid range jumpers, there's not a lot a defender can do but put a hand in his face. Doesn't matter if it's Nene, Anderson, or Capela guarding him (or Dwight Howard for that matter). If he's going to make those shots he's going to make them. Also, Lee shoots an air ball with Sweet Lou guarding him in the post, not really worried about anything there.

He was really effective for stretches in the regular season. Several games he provided a spark off the bench, not sure why we haven't seen him.
