I had the privilege of witnessing 2 of the all time greats play. How lucky we have been in SA to be apart of NBA history! Won't be the same!
As a Rockets fan I've always had great respect for him.

I don't know if I would believe it had I read it or not witnessed it, but somehow the greatest PF to play the game was possibly one of the most underappreciated (at a national level).

Agreed. It's special when you get a player like that on your team. Unfortunately they are few and far between.
I'll miss watching him.. other than Bird, he's my favorite non-Rocket.
Much respect on all fronts...player and person. Tough to see legends go, but what a ride for the Spurs during his time.
As a mavs fan, if Dirk gets a statue of his classic fadeaway...how do you make a statue of someone hitting the mid range bankshot? Such a genius at it

Never mind that Kobe only played 43% of his games the last three years, didn't win over 45 games in his last 5 seasons and missed the playoffs the last three years while failing to win even 30 games.
Kobe's been completely irrelevant for three years, while Duncan was still making All-NBAs/All-Defense and winning a title.
It seems so in character that he isn't having a press conference or doing a farewell tour. What a great career.
The guy's has a career average double / double (points/rebounds) over 19 years. Un. Be. Lievable!!!!!
