Just got an alert from my Spurs app saying that Tim is hanging it up. It was a great run Timmy, thank you.

Damn.
Right decision but it sucks to see him no longer on the court.

Greatest PF of all time. And I'm a Rockets fan.

Really enjoyed his commitment to one organization.

Watching the Spurs will never be the same for me. Having 21 out on the court has been a staple in my life since I was in junior high. He played the game the right way. Good luck Timmy in your future endeavors.

Timmy will always be my favorite non-Rocket ever. I will miss his consistent greatness and team first attitude. Thanks for the memories, Tim.

Well this sucks. I hardly remember Spurs basketball without him. It's hard to fully gauge the impact he's had on this city. For a kid that grew up in San Antonio, Tim Duncan was THE sports role model; he was everyone's hero. He wasn't flashy or gaudy, he just kicked your ass and went about his business. There was something so cool about that. San Antonio is probably the only city where number 23 wasn't the first choice of every kid in middle school when picking jerseys.

It's weird. He was drafted when I was 9 years old. Hard to believe that he has been dominating the NBA for over 2/3 of my life. And now, here at the end... I mean you knew it was coming, but even so, it hurts to see him go. I will really, really miss seeing 21 don the silver and black.

Enjoy your retirement, Timmy.

This is sad as hell.

Going to be weird watching the NBA without The Big Fundamental balling out

Really sad to see him go but it's pretty much exactly how we all expected him to do it, with very little fanfare and just deciding what's right. Hope timmy is able to stick around SA during the season like the admiral has.

Seems appropriate that he'll be in the same HOF class as Kobe Bryant

He made the right decision but it's still going to suck to see him no longer on the court. The best player of his era.

You are spoiled. The previous years were tough and "so close, but not quite". It's crazy how quickly he turned the Spurs into perennial title contenders

I beg to differ with you young man. This doesn't suck. What sucked was the pre Duncan era of the Spurs. You didn't miss much. After the novelty of having an NBA team in SA wore off, I lived trough the Doug Moe era and the idiocy of the Bruise Brothers. We couldn't beat the Lakers or those devils in Utah to save our soul. Then Pop and Timmy got here and the rest, they say. is history.

Best of all, no cheesy retirement tour for Tim. All the best to him.
The person that is not willing to fight and die, if need be, for his country has no right to life.

Timmy was drafted when I was 11 years old. I turn 31 this year. Literally all of my best NBA memories involved Tim Duncan. Thanks for everything TD.
