Nolan's longevity makes Duncan look like a rookie. Of course I'm not talking about the titles, but a 16K no-no at age 44 is about the most ridiculous thing in the history of sports. I was also a huge fan of Tatu I seriously thought Duncan was getting old when SA lost to Dallas in 2006. Is it just me, or is he better than he was 3 or 4 years ago?

Not just you. He IS better, and that's crazy.

I thought he was on the last decline after 2010.

I doubted Tim's greatness.

I was wrong.

He put in a lot of work to shed weight and that has helped tremendously.

If I'm Tim, I want to see Tony drop 15 pounds and what the Spurs have planned for FA before I commit to another year. Tony has gotten way too plump to be effective at what he does.

Glad you mentioned that. I thought the same thing...it's noticeable even up in his arms and shoulders. He looked fat (compared to his earlier form--not me)

Skipper at ESPN said Simmons won't write anymore or do anything else for ESPN. So this is Simmons' last ESPN article.

So Simmons is now a member of the ESPN equivalent of the Hooli rooftop club

He's an incredibly difficult player to like if you aren't a spurs fan.

Why? Because of his wide-eyed "I didn't foul" look? All player think they almost never foul on D. That's not unique to Duncan.

Other than that, I'm not sure what there even is to hate. He's quiet, doesn't gloat, and kicks ass.

He's so boring, I fell asleep typing about how boring he is.

Duncan is difficult to like if you are into SportsCenter highlights and WHACK(!) commercials.

However, he is incredibly easy to respect and admire when you appreciate what he has done, the teammate he is, and how he has done it for so long in an era where the NBA has transformed the rules into a perimeter players game.

I think when evaluating the greats in the game, availability and longevity isn't given enough value, but with Duncan (and Kareem), it really needs to be considered to appreciate how impactful they were over time.

Also, I would be happy to see him retire this off season.

It's the exact opposite of that actually, from what I see and hear all the time. You not liking him personally is another issue, but don't generalize.

Are we still talking about Duncan? Or have we moved on to someone else?
