The mavs rested Dirk, Parsons, Harris, Chandler, Ellis last night.
Hayward, Burke and Favors were also out for Utah last night as well with injuries and i doubt they play a meaningless game tomorrow vs Houston. Houston should roll.
The Pelicans are not NEARLY as good as we are. If we played the Pelicans in a 4 game series, I would expect to sweep them. If we want a win, I don't see any problem in getting it regardless of "how bad" the Pelicans want it
I'm expecting a very tough game IMO. Intensity level will be extremely high as they are young and very hungry. They also have the best player on the court and Splitter being out will definitely hurt our ability to guard Davis. Crowd will certainly be a factor as they know what's at stake. I think we win but it could be close.
Pelicans won't stop gunning just because we're up in the 4th quarter by 20. Our bench is gonna have to play really well. I seriously doubt their starters come out much for this game. It's do or die for them.

Question: If we finish with the same record as the Clippers, and finish at #2 and #3, in the event of playing each other in round 2, do the Clippers get HCA for owning the head-to-head, or do we keep our division leader tiebreaker?
It's much tougher to get 56 wins playing in a division where the worst team is New Orleans than in a division that has the Lakers and Kings (and Suns for that matter).
He had a stomach bug last week. Played. And then seems to be out again. He was saying he had just got weight back on after his first bug when he got sick again last week. Maybe just feeling off still?
quote:Also, great video on Kawhi this season, and how great he's been in the last few months:
Love Lebron's reaction at 4:24 to Kawhi coming in the game.
I found that guy's channel a few months ago. It's fantastic. His breakdowns are superb.
And some of those highlights. The way Kawhi sticks with guys through jump shots without overcommitting (or sometimes even leaving the ground) is so freaking rare. That he's 23 makes it even more unbelievable.
I used to think that when Duncan retired, he'd turn out the lights behind him, but then Pop somehow managed to find mini-Duncan (both in demeanor and talent level, albeit their talents are different). If the idea of coaching Kawhi coaxes Pop into staying a few more years, the party could keep rolling. Pop and Buford have taken their scouting and development to a new level, and Pop's ascendency to the coaching Mount Rushmore might finally give him some sway with some of the big name free agents when SA has some $$ to throw around. So he'll have a top 5 player, some other quality 2-way starters, and his usual fantastic bench. Plug in a big name free agent or two and holy crap the Spurs will remain near the top.
One interesting thing to consider is that there will be a lot more shots to go around soon. Before, they were trying to convince free agents to come play for a team that already had Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili combining for 40 shots a game. Kawhi Leonard takes 13-15 shots a game, but with Parker appearing to be fading, Manu talking re... reti... ACCEPTING A REDUCED ROLE, and Duncan happy around 10 attempts per game, it's easier to envision coming in and getting 15-17 shots a game, enough to break the 20 ppg mark.
