Good article. It does need to be said that the Spurs only missed the playoffs 4 times EVER (all pre-Duncan). The only franchise that is anywhere near that level of consistency since 1976 is LA. It's not like the Spurs were the Timberwolves for 22 seasons before Duncan. But it is true that SA did little with those playoff chances. They were a cut below the Suns during the long Phoenix heyday.

Tonight's game is the Biggest game of the season for the west.
I can't remember a bigger regular season game. There's big games but nothing where the standings change so drastically and so permanently. Man, I wish we were at home tonight. I would feel a lot better about the game if that was the case.

The fact that this game is deciding the damn conference, and it isn't on national tv, is crazy to me.
I had the same thought. Instead espn had Charlotte and Toronto.
It's because the nba decides all national games when schedules are done. This is where college football has it right and changes things on the fly during the season.
