I don't understand the"please no Howard" talk. He is a bit of a prima Dona but we need defense and post offense. He's the guy who completes this team. And he doesn't need to be the man, we got that. imagine Howard finishing the passes from Chandler, harden, Beverly, etc. that is a perfect fit for him and us. I think he would flourish with this great shooting lineup around him.

IT sure as hell would have been nice to trot out the second unit if it had Brooks and Delfino instead of Anderson and Lin

I feel good about next year. This is better than I expected even after we signed harden.
The Lakers had Howard WITH Bryant and couldn't win. What makes you think Harden with Howard would be much better?

I'd honestly take Gasol over Howard.
It's a better complement to Asik in the post and the dude can actually shoot.

Yes. Because Kobe is so willing to deter to a big man. Harden is much more of a team player. Besides that, the biggest problem with that team was DAntoni being the coach. His offense does not fit that team at all

Hardin passes.
This team fits Howard much better with all the shooters and he wasn't really healthy this year until March. We would be ridiculous not to sign him. He's legitimately a top 3 player and a free agent. And you can't just cut Lin. This isn't the nfl. Fully guarenteed contracts and all...
Also remember that the Lakers aren't a post team even though they had Howard and Gasol. We know from the first year of the new Heat that it takes time to work everyone in and a coach that can handle it.
Bench Lin for Beverly and sign acie law and then Lin is the 3rd option

Great series Houston, definitely a great future to look forward to. You guys are a horrrible, Heat-like matchup nightmare for us.
It kills me how Parsons is a little above average against the rest of the league, but absolutely kills it versus OKC. Hate that guy.
I can't decide what Houston needs next to make the jump. You guys are obviously loaded with shooters, but there just aren't the post guys who draw attention like Dream, Admiral and Shaq used to. Yes, Howard is probably the best center, but his post game isn't what it should be.

No kidding, the team is still learning life after Russ. Tonight I think was a step in the right direction, but they'll need to be ready from the tip of game one versus Memphis
We definitely need some post presence. Asik is a solid defender, but he's not a guy you can rely on to score points on the block. We need a legitimate scoring threat on the block, which will allow out shooters around the perimeter to get better looks as well.
Howard would work, but his attitude/work ethic concerns me. Kevin Love would be great but he won't be available to pursue until next year. Al Jefferson or Josh Smith might be good additions IMO

Here's a thought...you say Houston needs a post scoring threat, but do they? OKC certainly doesn't. Parsons is really busting out, do you think he can establish himself as someone who can be Harden's Robin, and then build around those two? Or do you still feel like maybe he reached his peak this year?
Why do people think that josh smith will all of a sudden stop jackin up 3's and become a low post monster? Why overpay for smith, milsap or Jefferson? Either get Howard or sit out 2013 and get a huge FA signing in 2014

Honestly, after the ***** fit that Howard threw in LA's last game and his petulance the last few years I'd rather pass on him.

Sure you got the money, but why blow it just because on a guy like Howard, when you could just get guys that fit the scheme you guys are already running (and making work)?
Houston is like OKC in that everyone complains you need a post scorer for when shooters go cold. Well, people have said that about OKC for 3 years, and we still don't have a post scorer.
