Then why are there guys who are 6'10" who can bench a truck? They don't have short arms, not even close. Shaq had very long arms, and he was insanely strong.
Durant will never be an elite defender without strength. He can't stop anyone who has any kind of strength because they will just post him up and back him down. He can be the best offensive player in the game, but he will never be the full package if he doesn't start putting in the effort in the weight room. It's no surprise that the best defenders tend to be the hardest workers.
His ceiling is incredibly high because he has guard like agility at 6'10" but he will never even come close to Jordan or Kobe if he doesn't start putting in the effort in the little things that improve you as a player.
