I know he's from baylor but that guy's got length, skill, and could help the frontcourt out badly. Trade up for a top 10 pick and get him!

With the loss of Manu for a few weeks, they may not have to trade up to get a top 10 pick. They might not make the playoffs.

He plays like a 2 and shies away from contact in the paint. No thanks.

I think he's going to be a good player, but I don't think he's aggressive enough. I'm thinking he'll be Lamar Odom 2.0, and it took Lamar a couple of changes of scenery until he found his niche.

Honest question, not a troll- what ever to that stud Baylor had in the post the year they went to the E8? I think he transfered from B10 or something. Where did he end up in the League?

Edit: His name was Ekpe Udoh.

He's playing for the Warriors.

I don't watch the Warriors often but from what I've heard he's a pretty solid defender but is pretty awful on offense.

Of course, the Warriors aren't exactly known for developing young talent, so who knows how he might do on another team.

Yea I agree he is pretty soft on the inside, but he's what 19, 20 years old. How many 6'11 guys can handle the ball well and shoot from 20+ ft? Plus he could rebound and eventually develop a decent post game. He could end up the next Lamar Odom or he could end up the next KG. There's not a lot of quality big guys, but he's probably one of the top available.

Well, considering this is a hypothetical that is pretty unlikely to happen, the top 10 on Ford's big board right now are:

1. Anthony Davis
2. Perry Jones
3. Harrison Barnes
4. Andre Drummond
5. Jared Sullinger
6. Thomas Robinson
7. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
8. Bradley Beal
9. Jeremy Lamb
10. John Henson

Even assuming Jones slides to 5 behind Barnes, Drummond, and Kidd-Gilchrist (who people seem to be getting pretty high on), I don't see the Spurs having nearly enough to pull a pick that high. Now, somebody like Henson at 10, I'd be very OK with that pick, but again don't know what they can trade to move up that high.

Once you get around the 20s, there are some serviceable looking big men. I guess it all depends on what the Spurs could scrape together (if anything) for a high pick.

dport, I agree. The problem that players with Jones's skillset have are that they become too comfortable floating on the perimeter and not mixing it up inside. So far, he hasn't impressed me on a consistent basis w/ his willingness to mix it up inside; again, he's young, that could change, but I think most examples of big men with perimeter skills show that they end up pretty one dimensional in that regard.
