Texas A&M faces Baylor in Waco on Sunday. There's free admission for anyone that wants to attend. For those that don't, the game will air live on ESPN+.

This is a frightening game as Baylor walloped #10 Arkansas in the season opener at Fayetteville 4-1. Last season, the Bears advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament.

The Aggies are 11-2-4 all-time against Baylor, but haven't beaten the Bears since 2011. A&M is 0-1-2 against Baylor in the 2020's. Last year, A&M managed a 1-1 draw at home.

Here's to hoping we play well, that Arkansas was the fluke, and that we find a way to take the W.

I think this team has so much potential, especially when connecting and playing as a team. The last two games have been really good for us to learn from, and I think they've made adjustments and worked on the things needed to. We're young, but we're getting better with every game. With some possible formation changes and the way we've been improving, I really think we can beat Baylor. Feeling good about this one.

Aggies Battle Baylor in Sunday Showdown in Waco

WACO - The Texas A&M soccer team continues its season-opening, three-game trip through the Lone Star State when they travel to Betty Lou Mays Field for Sunday's 7:30 contest against the Baylor Bears.

Following Texas A&M's 2-1 win over Rice in the opener, the Maroon & White are looking to start the season 2-0 for the first time since 2018. Trinity Buchanan recorded her second career brace in A&M's victory against the Owls.

The new-look Aggies had nine freshmen play in the season opener, including five in the starting lineup. The rookie starters included Makenna August, Ireland Churchill, Blake Hughes, Finley Lacher and Ava Sexton. The freshmen accounted for 444 of the 990 minutes played in the opener.

The contest features free admission. The match is slated for streaming on ESPN+ with Kit McConnico and Katie Goodman on the call.

The Aggies own a 14-5-4 edge in the all-time series. The teams have met four times since Texas A&M moved to the greener pastures of the SEC with Baylor owning a 1-0-3 edge. Last year the teams opened the season with a 1-1 draw. The Aggies struck first in the fourth minute when Leah Diaz finished a cross from Kaylee Noble, set up by a long throw-in from Mia Scranton. The Bears tied the match in the 81st minute. Texas A&M held an 18-16 edge in total shots with both teams recording five shots-on-goal.

Baylor is riding high after toppling No. 10 Arkansas, 4-1, Wednesday in Fayetteville. The Bears scored on a penalty kick in the 16th minute. They added three goals in an 11-minute span midway through the second half.
