No telling what actually happens in the tournament, but that's probably our two best showings in the last 18 months in these last two matches.

That and soccer's general path and place in American culture has mirrored the LGBT community in many ways…predominantly urban, long shunned and insulted, finally started to have its moments and its break through in generally the same time periods. The other sport for other folks.

Start with the caveat that there's a level of GAF/intensity that needs to be considered. The side Germany put out wasn't their best but is still a top 10-ish in the world level of talent out there.

We created plenty of chances in this game and we looked like we belonged on the same pitch. The way Poch has set up in these two games and made in-game adjustments has been impressive. The style we are playing is effective and pleasing to watch. Love his mentality screaming at the players to push the ball forward and not play back. Some nice set plays off corners and gets the setup right leading to the Jedi goal.

We're going to give up some chances but we're also going to create a lot of chances, which is fine given the strength in our attacking players plus getting Dest forward.

For anybody who was having doubts about Poch heading in to the WC, how could you not be completely at ease after these two games?

And on the keepers, I'm not going to act like I know everything about Freese, when I don't know anything about the MLS. I only know what I know about Turner from his past 6ish years as our keeper.

The knock on Turner has always been that he's not great with his feet. My understanding is he's the best shot stopper in the pool (with any relevant experience). If Freese is known for being good with his feet, he has been in his head in that regard since the bozo he made last summer or several intl breaks ago (can't remember the exact game).

The style Poch wants to play is moving the ball forward and not playing out of the back. So for that reason, seems like Turner has to be the keeper in the World Cup until he proves he isn't up to it.

I think you could be encouraged by these results while also being wary having witnessed this team over the last year or two.

I'm hopeful that we're coming into form and this is the quality we'll see in the tournament, but at this point it's an outlier from past performances.

The consistent intensity level, yes I'd agree. However the actual performance likely is due to having both Jedi and Dest available together for the first time under Poch.

Paraguay and Aussies shouldn't be a problem. Maybe we lose or draw to Turkey. But this squad gets out of the group. Stay healthy get confidence rolling and you never know- a quarterfinal run is possible. Encouraged by the combining and attacking in these two send off matches. Not as encouraged about the central defense. Maybe Richards is 100% and makes a big difference.

The Dest part can't be overstated.

At the same time, getting Freeman all that experience was probably invaluable.

Finally finished watching the match.
There was a lot to be optimistic about. Lots of good things out there. What a shot by Jedi!

On the flip side, Miles Robinson is a liability. Both warm up matches. Richards better get healthy. Not saying we get grouped with Miles in there, just saying the road is much tougher without Richards.
