I was bothered by how much he sat throughout the whole game, when he's usually up and actively coaching! Today was the complete opposite and for a lot of the second half that complacency was reflective in the effort of our girls 
I took that more as someone who is at peace with what is to come.
Effort was there...execution was not. Unfortunately this group demonstrated a lack of technical ability and finishing skills in the final third.

There was not a lot of effort - could have been a pre season game based on what I saw
or someone failing to do his job and letting down every single girl that he recruited to come here… imagine sending your daughter to a school to play for a coach sometimes across the whole country just for him to be sitting down 98% of the game, in a do or die gameGigEm200$ said:

Rewatch the last minutes, there were girls walking and moping around, not chasing free balls with full effort, not going up for headers, kicking it aimlessly,
but oh well when your coach quits on you I don't blame the girls for quitting either
I don't understand a quitting mentality. If you want to keep your job, act like it. He has allowed this program to just flatline since we joined the SEC. Every single year there is an excuse. Winners don't make excuses. They win or take responsibility for the downturn and get to work to correct it. The reality is elite players do not want to play for him anymore. His style (if he has one) is antiquated and ineffective. Another year of excuses is maddening.

You are exactly right! The excuses have irked me the past 4 years and the lack of accountability is bizarre, it's always a lucky shot from the other team, our girls not finishing, or a ref that loses us the game, it's never coaching decisions or coaching style.
And for those wanting to hear from Coach G following the loss, he skipped the post game press conference. For some reason after most losses this year he's just not done any post game pressers, while other coaches on campus always do. Again, lack of accountability

Your statement regarding flatlining since we joined the SEC is wrong, completely. Look at the 2014 record and how far the team went. I understand being disappointed with the last few years but don't go around changing history.aggiedrjdub said:

10 years ago we blipped up - these players were 8 to 11 years old

I anticipate that a player will confirm or refute such a negative comment that is shocking, rude, and disrespectful. That happens only if there is no positive bond or respect between the coaches and the players.Observer1 said:

G needs to focus on being a gracious and classy person during the transition, or he will risk flushing the esteemed status in Aggieland he earned over several decades.

I recently sensed that Coach G was not pleased on the current and future of College Soccer with the introduction of the transfer portal, NIL, and ability to recruit top players in TX.
Oh well, get over it. Transfer portal is here to stay. Saban retired. Jay Wright retired. Chip Kelly moved from a revolving head coach to an offensive coordinator. Any head coach that wants to be successful is going to embrace changes in the landscape quickly and learn to win with them. If G doesn't want that then even more reason to move him out.Rambotx said:

you know what hits worse..... EVERY other 1st round SEC tournament game had the lower-seeded team win.

Yeah there have been many coaches speak out against NIL and the portal, but have really adapted to it well! Our track coach Pat Henry spoke out against NIL vehemently and I was against him doing so, but he then adapted to it and is now all for it and the portal and doing well in it!
He seemed to love the portal when he told the media mid season last year that he wanted to get girls who can finish goals over what he had then

It's very sad how far our program has fallen. And in a fairly short period of time. Ten years ago (and several years following) we were looking forward to an annual deep run in the NCAA.
Now, well, you know.
I hope the upper powers recognize that while this isn't the football program, it is still a major program for our University and SHOULD be a desired destination for most ladies in the country to pursue their soccer careers. It cannot continue with the mantra of 'doing the least with the most'.
I will be patient for success on the field. But things must be done in other categories.
