Watched the game last night. I was impressed by the team. Seemed to care more. The hustle when they lose the ball was the most evident. Poch wearing a sport coat was a nice touch. McKenzie looked good in the back. Joe Scally is a competent right back in the defensive end. I was impressed by Morris. Adams is better, but Morris is developing well. I like the work rate and effort from Sargent. His finishing is not great though.
Fun watch and much more pleasant brand of football compared to ggg ball.

She works almost exclusively in Liga MX on the men's side, and is one of the higher-rated refs in that league. Higher than most of the male refs. She holds her own very well. And I imagine we'll all see her on the field at World Cup 2026 in some capacity. She's legit. Probably rated just below Tori Penso in CONCACAF for the female referees. They're both regulars in the men's international scene for CONCACAF.

Besides, aren't we tired of seeing the same ole sh itt y male refs on USMNT games? It seems like we only see Ramos from Mexico, the Honduran guy, the Jamaican guy (who was poor on the Leagues Cup Final), and the Costa Rican. We need more blood and a non-threatening friendly is the perfect place to use her.

She's retired and just landed the main job for women's referees at FIFA. And she's married to Howard Webb now. The big reason he moved back to England.

I thought the lady ref did a good job. Perhaps if it wasn't a friendly friendly, her hands off style might not have worked, but who's to say she wouldn't adjust to the game being played. And, she's not the ugliest lady out there.

She probably should've called fouls earlier, but honestly by the end of the game I thought she did a pretty good job.

It does take a really good referee to handle some of these Concacaf matches.

Katia Garcia very good at man management. Seeing her work in the Mexican league she's earned the male players respect fairly quickly in comparison with some of the newer male referees. I've spoken with some of the higher level male Mexican refs and they all say she's extremely good.

And the fact that she's cute doesn't hurt at all. There are 2 sisters working in the Liga MX Femenino that are really pretty, Diana Perez and Priscilla(?)

It's a friendly. The players make different decisions cuz they know it's a friendly. They don't make the same tackles they would in a competitive match, for example. Or maybe they don't go sliding in the same way to win a ball. Referees know it's a friendly too so they officiate it differently.

I always used to let a few hard "fouls" go in the beginning of the game as a reminder that this is a real game. These friendlies can be harder to officiate than real games cuz you never know who's playing 100% and who's playing 75% effort. You do a lot more talking and managing in these type games.
