Texas A&M @ Texas
Austin, Texas
Sunday, September 29 - 6PM
TV:Longhorn Network SEC+
Fresh off a huge win over conference rival Auburn, the Aggies have a showdown with rival rival Texas. This first SEC edition of the rivalry will kickoff in Austin on Sunday at 6PM.
The Aggies face a very tough road test in this one. The Longhorns are currently 8-1-2 and will be fired up for the conference matchup against their old foes. They swept through an undefeated non-conference schedule (7-0-1). That tie was a 0-0 result against #18 Iowa, the only ranked team they faced in non conference play.
Conference play has been a mixed bag of 1-1-1. The win was a 1-0 final against a bad Ole Miss team. The tie came against middle of the road Alabama (2-2), and the loss came at top ten Mississippi State (0-1).
Texas seems to have taken a slight step back this year, especially without the incredible talent of Trinity Byars, the program's all-time leading goal scorer. Byars was injured 5 games into the season and has not returned to the field yet.
Still, there's a ton of talent on this team and we'll be playing in hostile territory.
I need BQ to wish for a tie in this one.
