Well, we blew our chance for an easier win on Sunday before jumping into a TOUGH weekend of SEC play. That tough schedule starts tonight (Thursday) at Ellis Field. The Aggies look to defend their home against the #5 Auburn Tigers. That match kicks off at 7PM.

Auburn is 9-0-1 on the season. That lone tie was a 2-2 result in the home opener against Vandy. Auburn has had some resounding wins this season, most notably a 4-0 win over Clemson.

Auburn breezed through an undefeated and unscored upon non-conference schedule that included two ranked teams. That 2-2 draw against Vanderbilt is the only game in which Auburn has allowed a goal this season. They are outscoring their opponents 33-2 on the year and have only allowed 17 shots on goal.

Chris Henderson of All White Kit put out a preview on "X":

The Aggies could ease a lot of their bubble nerves if they tally three points in this SEC showdown. Auburn dropped points at home to Vanderbilt a week ago, and this looks like a potentially tricky trip for their league title hopes.

I saw the play and never saw the result. I was at my daughter's soccer game and had to walk to the car so I missed the end result.

Can someone give me a rundown of what happened after the goalie and our player went down? Was a call even made?

Auburn is the Baylor of the SEC when it comes to dirty play. That was absolutely a red card on the keeper. Also, they foul A LOT after the ball is passed and the center looks away.

Goalie came out to punch and collided with Taylor Pounds who got her head on the ball but missed the shot.

The goalie however straight up missed her punch and clocked Pounds. Both were down for a bit. They eventually called a penalty with VAR but not even a card was insane

1-0 Good ladies at the half.

I thought the ref started calling a lot more fouls after the penalty kick collision.

I don't think I've seen A&M able take as many balls away and intercept so many passes against a decent team as tonight. Let's hope they can keep it up.
