Well the game was almost a repeat of the first meeting in CS, but this time A&M dominated for even longer stretches of the match. This was an impressive performance today, and even though we should have scored a few more goals, it's very encouraging that the team seems to be hitting its stride at the right time. Becerra's individual effort and great goal (which we finally get a break with a post as it bounced in) helped lead an attack that sat in front of the SC goal the entire second half. Once we took the lead, I knew it was over because the Gamecock offense is just non-existent, especially if you don't foul them around the box.
This win puts A&M in the NCAA tournament and now we're playing for a higher seed and not having to go on the road in the first match. RPI is up to 38 and with 2 more wins against Georgia and Arkansas, both of whom are beatable for sure, we could sneak up even higher in the pecking order. This has been a very big couple of weeks for this program as it didn't look good after the historic Vandy loss, so you have to give the coaches and players credit for responding and salvaging the season.
