Texas A&M Soccer returns to action on Sunday at 6PM as they welcome the Washington State Cougars to town.

Washington State kicked their season off at home on Thursday. They defeated Eastern Washington in the season opener by a score of 3-1. Despite trailing 0-1 at the half, Washington State thoroughly thrashed EWU, outshooting them 27-4 and scoring 3 unanswered in the last 30 minutes of the match.

The Cougars went 8-7-4 last season, a surprisingly down year for regular NCAA tournament qualifiers. WSU even made the Final Four in 2019.

The Aggies have only faced Washington State 3 times, going 2-1 against the side. The last meeting was a 1-0 win in 2010.

Not much to do in Pullman, WA. Then again, not much more to do in College Station. I hope the 12th man shows ups tomorrow. If we beat WSU, Baylor and TCU (which we should), we'll be in the Top 20 with a lot of opportunity in front of us. Gig 'em!

I'm curious if we see any formation or lineup changes. There were some issues against FSU. Wazzu is no pushover and we have a couple tough games after this one.
At some point I'd like to see 2 forwards and only 1 holding mid. I'm still not sure about our defensive line. We have a lot of potential options. Will be nice to get Becerra, Colvin, and Geczik in the lineup, they should be big contributors this year.

A direct and athletic team. Not great soccer players, but fast and furious up top fueled by long balls from the back line and holding midfielder(s). A lot of counterattacking.

A team we should beat. If we get a lead we must demonstrate we can hold it.

I think our back line is solid, although sometimes undisciplined. They will be tested tonight.

35 minutes until we start. The temperature is currently 109. Lucky for us the heat index factors aren't adding too much more, so it only feels like 112.

Should be down to a temp of 103 when the game is over at 8 pm. So, not much relief coming.

This has to be a record for hottest temp ever played in in program history.
