League is trying to project its ability to self regulate to avoid governmental oversight.
Problem is that they can't do anything to the real cash cow teams that are popular in the rapidly-growing foreign markets for fear of damaging revenue growth.
So Chelsea can be funded with all of the dirty Russian money it wants and never fear punishment. Man Dhabi can basically funnel petro-state dollars through its sports-washing operation with impunity.

Should have been safe weeks ago but the EPL exists in a state of having Man Dhabi's ovary baster 3/4 of the way down its gullet. Now that we're safe, their new scheme is trying to force us to sell Branthwaite for less than he's really worth.

To be fair.. if you add our pt deduction back in, we're in 13th and 3pts off of 10th. Actually a pretty good year compared to the last couple.
Fair point, though that midseason dropoff was really concerning. But this team has been fantastic for the past month or so.
Need better attacking options. Doucs got injured and our goal production disappeared.. but since we're building a new stadium, we can't buy new players ever again without being sanctioned into relegation

Announcers talking about how we are looking at selling our better players (I'm guessing Branthwaite and Onana)? My question is why not just take another 3pt sanction next year and keep them? Keeping top young players is worth 3pts imo.. both monetarily speaking and the value they add via points to the season.

No idea at this point. Basically, the narrative went out from the league to try to screw us as much and as often as possible. Current narrative is that we'll have to sell Branthwaite, Pickford, Onana just to stay solvent and not get docked again.
Frankly it's getting tired.
Are they worried the new stadium will make us attractive and competitive with their cash cow clubs?

I just can't figure out why FFP rules matter in our case? We aren't taking losses to build an unfair squad. That's the entire purpose of the rules. If we sell off those 3 players we might as well just accept relegation. Then we go out and resign Seamus for another year.. the guy is a legend but he provides no value anymore.
