One of our biggest problems is that Mo Salah isn't an elite player any more. He is good, but he is no longer the game changer he used to be. He misses tons of easy chances and isn't capable of really beating many players one-on-one. I hope there is still a fat Saudi league offer on the table after this year...

Lost track of the amount of times Gakpo's shins have been kicked
We have some how devolved into the Brendan Rodgers version of Liverpool. We spend most of the time passing the ball between the defenders and the goal keeper...
Welp. Going to be pretty tough to win the league if we can't break 1.5 xG even with a penalty.

Hard to fathom what's happened in just barely over a week. They look abysmal. Agree on Salah no longer being elite and he really tailed off after his injury.

While Salah may not still be in his absolute prime, he was leading the EPL in goals and assists when he was injured. I dont think he is all the way back in form.
If anything, his dip along with Jotas injuries exposed the weakness of the rest of the front 3. I like Darwin and Diaz for their pace and work rate, but the wasteful play in the final third is such a killer. Gakpo does nothing well.

I get Szo and Salah, but surprised on Mac and gakpo in.
And kudos to Klopp at least having the guts to try something different no matter who it was. Needed. Let's see what happens

Those are good changes. We looked great in the middle of the season when many of these guys played heavily. TV pundits are questioning Klopp, but I think he made the right moves. We have tons of quality players, some of the regular starters looked tired over the last few games and short of ideas. The bench is absolutely loaded in case we need a second half boost (which we usually do).
If we get a strong counter pressing performance from Endo we will be fine.

Just can't defend or create/finish properly enough. Just sloppy and discombobulated.

Talking with a buddy this morning and we both settled on thinking that this current dip in form feels like something you'd be relatively okay with if it occurred in November or January. Just unlucky that it occurred at a time critical enough to cost us spots in two competitions and lose first in a league title race.

Yeah Arsenal went through a similar spell around Christmas before they went on their run of scoring 17 in every game.
Agree. Had the same conversation from a neighbor who is from Liverpool. We think all the injuries finally took their toll and just ran out of gas. They were playing almost above their head for so long, you forget reality and forget bad stretches come for almost everybody at some point. Like you said, it just came at the wrong time.

Well I suppose we'll see Diaz, Gakpo/Nunez, and Salah up front tomorrow. I think Diaz needs a break but it doesn't appear likely with Jota out. Then again, Klopp could try Gakpo on the left, Nunez in the middle, and Salah on the right. I do like Gakpo lining up as a left winger
Seen it posted absolutely everywhere today so I assume it's true. Although Amorin was posted everywhere as well so who knows.
I'm fine with it. Nike's been fine but nothing incredible.
