After last weekend's results Forest are now secure in their place for an EPL spot for 2023-2024. The final place in next year's EPL will be one of Everton, Leicester and Leeds, with Everton having the clear advantage. A draw might not be enough, however for the Toffees, as Leicester have a goal differential advantage over Everton, so an Everton draw and Leicester win would see the Foxes secure the final EPL position. For Leeds to stay up they will need a win and an Everton loss, along with a Leicester loss or draw. Will be interesting to see how the opponents of these three approach the matches, because there is nothing left to play for except for this relegation battle. Tottenham could still secure a European Conference League place with a win and Villa loss or tie, if that is a big motivation or not I will leave up to you to determine.
All matches will be played on Sunday at 10:30am.
Leeds United v. Tottenham (Elland Road, CNBC and Peacock)--Leeds have little hope of staying up after last weekend's loss at West Ham. The Whites have just been unable to collect points, really needing more draws and chances to collect single points along the way. They will need all three from their last match with Tottenham, who come in losing their last 2 matches as well, assuring that they will not get a Europa League Spot this year. Tottenham have won the last three the clubs have played, including a wold 4-3 win in November when the clubs met in North London. Leeds will go all out Sunday, so expect a wide open crazy affair.
Everton v. Bournemouth (Goodison Park, USA Network and Peacock)--Everton come into the last match in the pole position, but will need a win to guarantee their spot in next year's EPL. So the Toffee's will need to come out on the front foot against the Cherries, who secured their EPL spot a few weeks ago and have been on a bit of cruise control ever since, having lost their last three matches. Bournemouth have won the last three against Everton, including a 3-0 thrashing in November at Vitality Stadium. Will be nervy times at Goodison if Everton do not get an early lead and if Leeds and/or Leicester get a lead in their matches.
Leicester v. West Ham (King Power Stadium, Peacock)--Leicester know they need a victory over the Hammers to have any hope of staying in the EPL, so, like Leeds, expect them to come out on the front foot against a West Hame squad who will be more interested in preparing for their European Final the next week. West Ham did look sluggish last weekend against Leeds before coming alive in the second half. Leicester claimed a 2-0 win over the Hammers in November at London Stadium, so the Foxes will come in confident they can claim all three points on Sunday.
Will be a wild Sunday with lots of twists and turns, enjoy!
