Uruguay and Ghana both sent packing. I can dig it.

Demented men in Rio bars are thrilled. Uruguay have traditionally given Brazil fits

It's far too late, and maybe too little, to be karma for the Suarez handball, but it'd still be nice to have some measure of "revenge."
True but seeing his and the Uruguay's team behavior glad they got knocked out.

Uruguay lucky to get only one caution from that after whistle stuff.

I don't feel bad for him. I'm happy for S. Korea. They had to beat Portugal to advance and they did it from being down 0-1.

I hate to see that, but he's such a dbag.

I'm sure there are really good people from Uruaguay, but their soccer team doesn't inspire warm feelings about their country.

That ending and behavior after the match by Uruguay was pretty disgraceful. It wouldn't matter but someone needed a red card for all that. Go out with grace.

Uruguay are masters of the dark arts. Have been for years. They also have a well deserved reputation for ruthlessness that is well earned

They are a weird combo that they are really rough on defense, but flop on offense. I guess growing up in that style of play those go together because contact is always hard, but they look like idiots always looking for pks on every touch and then destroying an offensive players only to complain about the call.

Ugh...dont recommend watching all the way to the end where we get reminded that even from the very start Jozy Altidore was always going to be getting hurt at a tournament.

So many of the Uruguayan players were harassing the officials after the game and at least one player grabbing at an officials jersey should result in FIFA penalizing the team. The Uruguayan coach wasn't trying to intervene.

Not sure what options are available to penalize the players involved and the team?

You fine the team just like they do to Mexico for their disgusting yell and you force them to give half their money to the women's team

I am happy for S Korea, but that pk decision in the 57th minute was amazing. That's a pk. I would be angry if I was Uruguayan.

Regardless of whether or not it should have been a PK, players shouldn't verbally harass, push and pull on the jerseys of the officiating crew after the match. Uruguay isn't the only team to have officiating decisions go against them.

Agreed.

Emotions get high, though. In my junior year in high school, our coach had to tackle one of our guys to keep him from attacking the ref. Ref ended the game 27 minutes early.

Horrible ref, but it wasn't a good look for us.

Looking at the u-20 roster while I recognize names only MB90, Jozy, and maybe Dax played any real minutes for the full team. Then there's guys like Freddy Adu, Sal Zizzo, Robbie Rogers, Chris Seitz and Danny Szetela. Yeesh

Most U20 teams are like that though, how many do you recognize from other squads? Spain was in that tournament and the only two full players with more than a couple caps were Pique and Juan Mata I think. Between Bradley, Altidore, Rogers, and Adu there are 301 caps which is quite a bit.

The US beat a team in that tournament that had David Luiz, Marcelo, Willian, Jo, Renato Augusto, and Pato on the roster...which is absurd.
