I cannot imagine the joy of the Wrexham fans. 20 years of
relegation, bad owners, a rotting Kop, ****e football, heartbreaking losses, financial distress all followed by back to back promotions.

I think this is the definition of the long road back

Nice.

Too bad Notts County floundered mid-season and isn't going up with them.

This probably deserves it's own thread, but it's perhaps most relevant for folks interested in Wrexham:

It's a shame Paramount+ app sucks, but on the other hand, it's the first time the lower tiers will get relatively cheap coverage here so this is overall a good thing… especially since many folks already carry a sub for UCL.

Edit to add… I read the fine print in the press release and it doesn't look like they're going to show everything. I think it'll be like old school college football where they pick 2 weeks in advance. But the good news is that some games will get picked up for the normal CBS Sports Network channel… to include Wrexham's opening game.

And I gotta think that Wrexham will feature very frequently, at least as a streaming option.

Chelsea-Wrexham on ESPN 2 right now. A fight, maybe more of a vigorous tussle, just broke out 2 minutes in.

27 for Chelsea is making me uncomfortable with his Richard Simmons shorts

League One opener and the quest for a 3rd consecutive promotion begins. Obviously promotion is unlikely but should be fun to see how they are able to compete

What a goal indeed. That was top class.

Great start to the League One campaign

Currently on Paramount+ away at Bolton. 0-0 halftime

Finished 0-0.

Birmingham and Bolton are the two teams I've seen with the best promotion odds, so that's a pretty good away draw.

Especially since they were without Paul Mullin. Okonkwo in goal was really good

3-0 win over Reading.

Following relegation from the Championship in 2022 last year was the first for Reading in League One since 2004. The Royals were also docked some Everton type points in 2023 for fancying themselves more posh than what their budget should have allowed. (Wiki hole).

Only 3 matches in but nice start for the League Two upstarts Stockport (3-0-0) and Wrexham (2-1-0).

Another win. Up to 2nd place on GD, with 3 teams tied at 10pts.

3-0 over Shrewsbury Town yesterday has Wrexham atop the L1 table. Only 5 matches in but a fairly perfect start to the season

They have the best 5 game record of any team in the top five leagues I think.

Aided a little bit by the fact that none of the teams in the two leagues above them have played 5 matches yet.

Next league game is away against Birmingham City (9/16). Tom Brady owns a (small) piece of the Blues, and they were far and away the favorite to gain promotion back to the Championship heading into the season according to bookmakers.

It would be pretty huge to get something from that match for Wrexham.

About a quarter of the way through and the Reds sit in 3rd. The dream of 3 straight promotions lives. For those wondering in League 1, the top 2 are automatically promoted along with the winner of a playoff for teams 3-6.

In other news Rob Ryan sold a minority stake in the team, and bought Wrexham Lager with plans to distribute in N America
