seeing claims that...

- we submitted an improved bid of 40m euro (including add-ons) for Lisandro Martinez. Ajax is looking for 50m.

- a deal for Raphinha is agreed and all that is left is medicals & paperwork.

Brits do that to lots of male names. My English trainer in select added a Y to my name and never used my plain 1st name as far as I remember. Same way Canadians like to add -er to the end of names, I guess.

Have to see how he is doing in preseason. If he seems EPL ready, Southampton wouldn't be a bad destination but if he is good enough for them it may be better just to stick with us and get cup & EL group matches. If he goes on loan, I'm thinking Netherlands, Belgium or Portugal may be the better options.

Still think we need a "swiss army knife" attacker to help with rotation/injuries. I'd like to see us hijack Milan's move for Charles De Ketelaere. He is 21, tall (6'4") can play multiple positions (both wings, AM & ST/CF) and has excellent ball skills.

Seeing some claims that Raphinha may have been a target of opportunity rather than need. Meaning that Edu/Arteta wanted him for his skillset and they may not be in a hurry to identify another wing atleast until Pepe is gone.

Ten Haag seems to be desperately trying to get some of his players from Ajax. They have been linked to Martinez, Timber & Antony a well as trying to coax de Jong from Barca. With the kind of money MU throws around, you would think he/they would cast a wider net.

Thats how I always saw it. He makes the team better, we aren't exactly lacking in decent wingers. Granted that hasn't prevented Arsenal fans from having an absolute meltdown over it. Also apparently Barca are back in the mix which I'd rather happen

yeah, just saw the Barca stuff. Supposedly Raphinha's agent was seen at Camp Nou this morning. Claims are that he is trying to stop the Chelsea move and clear the path for Barca. Sounds like Raphinha is gonna end up at Barca either this summer or in the near future. May not be a bad idea that we dodged this move.

I'd be down with that. Maybe as an assistant and not the head coach for one of the youth squads. I do trust Per. He seems to really have our Academy headed in the right direction
