Our team was good enough to win but Pulisic and Pefok let us down. I didn't like the changes at the 80th minute but we should've been up 2-0 at that point.

I think the plan was always to make defensive subs and park the bus if we were up or tied after 75-80 minutes.

Friend and I were texting saying the exact same thing.

As for our game, coming away with a point at Azteca isn't bad by any stretch but it really feels like we left 3 points on the table with those two bad misses.

Gotta be very happy with the point down in Azteca. Berhalter put out a good lineup that performed well and created some great scoring opportunities. Draw seemed a fair result for both teams.

Too bad Weah misses out on next match. No Yedlin either, but Reyna looks ready to start and Adams avoided a yellow so we should have a strong 11 for Panama.

Win against Panama and we are essentially in, given best Costa Rica could do is tie us, and our +7 goal differential would make them overtaking us nearly impossible.

We shouldn't have to worry about Costa Rica at all, but that joke of a red card on Canada kept the Ticos in the hunt.

I want to give a big shout out to Long. He came on late, and made at least 4 big plays with good positioning and reactions.

Is that a worse miss than Wondo? Didn't mean as much, but that missed the goal by 30 yards and he was 7 yards out.

It kinda looked like he had no idea he was in front of goal and was setup to make a one touch pass back to Reyna, but then at the very last millisecond realized he should be shooting.

The Wondo miss was the first thing I thought about. But he is a young player, Wondo came in as an experienced goal scorer, so yeah, the Wondo one hurt more, and still hurts more.

The Wondo miss is clearly worse (and probably the worst ever for the US) based on it being in a World Cup bracket match that would have seen us advance

My daughter doesn't get it when I say to her, nice shot Wondolowski.

I have to disagree. They were both all-time gaffers. If you watch Wondo's miss, from a technical perspective, it was as simple a set-up as one could ask for. Pefok got wrong-footed, maybe not expecting the ball to come back to him (who knows), and he completely bungled it - was Pogbaesque. But, one is not 100x worse than the other. Accounting for the implications, Wondo's will always be worse, until someone else bungles a perfect chance in the 92nd minute of a World Cup match that would have sent the US through to the Quarterfinals.

I agree with PatAg. Wondo's miss was emotionally crushing, but he actually had the keeper coming out at him and tried to get it over his outstretched arms. Pefok was big ol WTF with no one around and Ochoa motionless on the goal line.
