I'll never understand how woke = hates America in peoples eyes.

Most of the people I personally know who feel that way also voted for a man whose slogan was make America great AGAIN, implying it's not great now, implying you want to change America.

So, you want to change America my way = to love America?
you want to change America your way = you hate America?

For what it's worth I saw the USWNT a couple weeks ago and nobody knelt during the anthem. Does that mean they love America now in your eyes?

Also, what's the difference between kneeling and wearing a shirt with a slogan of protest on it during the anthem?

Woke = gullible, stupid, and naive. Not necessarily an America hater. (but sometimes that too)

I absolutely do want to change America to back what it was when we actually adhered to the Constitution embraced freedom, and were the most prosperous people the world have ever seen. We have gradually diverged from that over 100 or so years to the point that we are not nothing like the nation was intended. We were great. Now, not so much. We have reverted to being like lots of other nations around the world.

I swore an oath to the Constitution. Not to the *******ized form that idiots have "interpreted" it to be.

Yeah, if you want to change America to be more like the Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuala, etc. rather than one based on liberty as originally intended, then yes.... you hate America.

Maybe? I'm trying to figure that out.

Maybe nothing... If I become convinced that they hate America, then I will not watch them anymore. At the moment, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they are just morons and not America haters. After all, at this point it takes a conscious decision to NOT kneel, as it would have been so easy for them to kneel. I give them credit for not doing so.

To each his own I guess.

I took my soccer loving daughter to the game and we both had a blast.

Oh, you said USWNT. I thought you said USMNT.

Yeah, they are America haters. There is no doubt in my (or any sane person's) mind that Rapinoe despises America. And the fact that the team and coaches let that stand unpunished is enough for me to not watch them again until a new crop of players and coaches sufficiently convince me that they area different.

Can you even explain why Rapinoe (and others) have chosen to kneel for the anthem?

She said to support Kaepernick. That's enough for me.

I was thinking you'd use this as a chance to help us better understand your stance. But instead you just demonstrated to me that you are unable to adequately verbalize what these athletes are speaking out against. You're mad but you can't even explain exactly why.

You have no interest in "better understanding my stance". You were hoping I would say something about him hating the troops, for which you throw out a "gotcha" retort that he consulted Nate Boyer before deciding to kneel. I've heard you dudes defend him 1000 times before.

In reality, Colin wanted to sit. Nate Boyer told him he should stand. The kneeling was some idiotic compromise between the two. Not a "respectful" way to protest.

Let me ask you this. Let's say you have a cause that were fighting for, like lowering the drinking age to 18. Would you make your point by kneeling during the anthem? Or call Americans terrorists? Or call the 4th of July a "celebration of white supremacy"? I surely hope not. If you were smart, you'd write letters to editors, hold signs in front of the state capital, march with like minded people. This is because I assume you are not not anti-American jackass. That's the difference between him and you.

If I didn't care at all, then I'd at least care more about our nation than some on the USWNT.

Yeah for a guy who wants nothing to do with the USWNT, he sure manages to "just a little rant" about them a lot.

You said you were done. Can you be done so we can go back to soccer talk?

I guess you have reading comprehension problems. Support for BLM is not necessarily anti-American. It could be mere ignorance or idiocy. People like Kaepernick and Rapinoe, on the other hand, are anti-American and that is why they support BLM among other misguided causes.

Please start a thread about it in the politics board. You have the strange ability to derail threads on here and the entertainment board like Tanya. Seriously, don't bring that garbage over here.

Has anyone seen the home jerseys or will they remain the same?
littlebitofhifi
How long do you want to ignore this user?
My guess is that they'll remain the same and wait for another "big" reveal before or during the men's WC qualifiers.

That's just a guess but I don't think they normally do much during the Olympics year because the teams can't wear the USSF crests during that event. So they just take the latest kits, use the generic crest, then get more creative for the next real cycle.

I actually love the simple home whites right now though, so I'm cool with keeping them for awhile!

For someone who pays closer attention than me, what does the USWNT really want?

Not the spin, talking points, etc.

Or put another way, what terms would the USSF have to agree to in a new contract in return for the USWNT never complaining publicly again?

They think they deserve a cut of the money from the Mens World Cup, because they live in a fantasy world.

For them to be as athletic and as in demand to watch as the men.
