It felt like the Spain matchup was the toughest because the refs let them beat us to a pulp, but France might've been the scariest team. They put pressure on us all game.

England. Had a late tying goal overturned by VAR. They were threatening and the US was shaky at the end.

If I'm drafting players I'm having a hard time picking Ertz or Lavelle.
Both are very hard to replace what they mean to their team.

I thought Dunn dominated every game she played. I don't recall her ever getting beaten on her side of the field. But defense isn't sexy.

Plus the fact that the Premier League, Ligue Un and Spanish clubs are funding women teams. They already have the facilities and structure in place to train and develop players. By far the Europeans are much more technically proficient than the US players.

this is also a really important point. They can effectively just add a women's category to existing infrastructure. Whereas as the post-college level, the US professional ranks are pretty much held together with duct tape and bailing wire.

Really complete team and difficult to identify the "best" player.

Morgan's ability to draw fouls were match winning.
Rapinoe took and converted all the high pressure penalties.
Heath was consistently the most dangerous one-on-one player.
The Sauerbrunn-Ertz-Dahlkemper defensive axis was impenetrable for the entire tournament.
At some point in the tournament you could have convinced me that Mewis, Horan, or Lavelle was our best central midfielder.

Truly an incredible TEAM performance and great job by Jill Ellis pulling all the strings perfectly.

Dude scored the most goals in a World Cup in the last 50 years, all of which came in the run of play. And being in the right place at the right time is a really big part of being a striker.
