This team is so hard to watch. They automatically want to go backwards instead of pushing forward. Throw in near the goal line in the 24th minute is at our goalies feet within 3 touches...how about we just throw the damn thing into the box and try to creat a chance?
Also, Moore and Cannon are just playing as wing backs that don't go forward.

We're not able to hold the ball up when played into Pulisic and Sargent right now. Hard to sustain any attack that way.
i like the makeup of the front 5, but there is no point in having 2 defensive players in those wide possessions. You need players that can help maintain possession and be an attacking threat in those spots
I think Cannon is good as an actual outside back, not sold on Moore yet.

It really looks like we didn't get a lot of practice in with this formation, which makes it a questionable choice at best
Just get an actual coach, with an actual consistent thought process regarding the direction of this team tactically

I think this year, at top level and youth, its clear there is a lot of talent in the pipeline to work with. So at least we have learned that from this year.
Personally, I think it's a major mistake to have not named a coach before this string of friendlies in the fall, but maybe we will be surprised by the hire
There is basically one, or even zero, option for our midfield and forward when they are receiving the ball. Gonna make you look bad playing a good team like Italy

I dont get this. They are playing to win the game, not get bossed around for 90 minutes. If you practice losing you will get good at losing. Sure we gave young guys a shot, but to what end. USMNT has played 23 guys this year. That gives you: no backline cohesion, midfield partnerships, or attacking consistency.
That said I'm a fan of find the players then pick the system. Not play a million combinations of players and formations.

I thought he played very well as a shot stopper. His distribution isn't very good but he's also young. Hopefully he develop that part of his game because I'm not a fan of seeing 50/50 balls every time the goalie releases the ball.
I also hope this helps with his confidence moving forward. Last time we saw him he had a horrendous gaffe that had to be damn embarrassing
