Howdy Ags!
The Texas A&M soccer team hits the road for another SEC road game. The Aggies face off against Ole Miss tonight at 7PM. [double-checks time] Yes, it's at 7PM. You can catch the radio broadcast and/or stream the video on SEC Network+ through the ESPN App.
The Ole Miss Rebels are 8-4 on the season and 2-1 in conference play. After a rather unremarkable non-conference slate, the Rebels finally notched a notable win last Sunday as they took down the previously undefeated #9 ranked Auburn squad by a score of 3-2.
It is no surprise that senior CeCe Kizer was the hero of the day, scoring the final two goals against Auburn - including one just 36 seconds into the second half. Kizer's second goal, not only served as the gamewinner, but also made her the all-time leading goal scorer in Ole Miss history. Kizer has tallied a total of 27 goals so far in her career and already has 11 in this 2018 season. Kizer also has a team high 4 assists on the season.
Altogether, Mississippi has outscored their opponents by a total of 29-16.
Goalkeeper Marnie Merritt is another 4 year starter for the Rebels. Merritt is just 28 saves away from breaking that Ole Miss career record and if the Rebels can manage 1 more shutout this season, she'll have the career shutout record as well. She has a 1.31 goal against average on the year and has made 34 saves.
Texas A&M is 5-2-1 against Ole Miss all-time. And in both of those games that A&M lost - CeCe Kizer scored the gamewinner.
