He did give him the benefit (as he should). It was correctly called back. Don't really see where the issue is here. If you want to complain about the "flow of the game" then blame flopping, the six second rule and all the other countless forms of time wasting.

This VAR system isn't perfect yet, but it can be.

As I said earlier I think you will start to see ARs be given direction to keep flags down unless it's clear offside. And let replay pull it back if need be. Basically that's what the NFL has turned into. Refs swallow whistles and are reluctant to make any call on possible turnovers for fear of blowing something dead that shouldn't have been. IMHO replay at this level has some major flaws. It will fix some things but expose others.

That's a screw up of massive proportions. The original pass over the top was off. The goal itself was clearly on and should not have been flagged.
