What's the worst job you've ever had?

I worked at PetCo the summer after my freshman year at A&M. My very first day I had to fish out a massive dead star fish from one of the aquariums.

I also accidentally put a new shipment of male rats in the female rat cage......didn't realize it until one of the females got pregnant.

Worst job was summer of 2003 at Target in Corpus. I was a cashier, living the Nickled & Dimed dream. This Target was literally dead last in store rankings (I don't remember if these were regional or national rankings) for failing inspections and being out of compliance on certain things. One of those things was having the proper equipment available for cart retrieval. Stores were supposed to at the very least have a band or tether for carts to make them easier to manage in the parking lot. Many had mechanical assistants. We had nothing. The cart guy quit soon after I started and being the only male there, I was "promoted" to cart wrangler.

The heat index was routinely in the 110s, especially working on that hot pavement. People in Corpus are also very inconsiderate and never return carts to their proper location. I spent the summer running around the parking lot trying to replenish the consistently empty stalls to no avail. Typically the only break I got was lunch. And during that lunch break, of course, no one would be doing my job. At the end of the day, I would still be responsible for restocking with all of the inside people...

When I clocked out though, my responsibility was over and I'd go home without anything on my mind. Doesn't seem too bad from that perspective.

During the short time I was a cashier, someone purchased a football for a wedding registry. That was amusing to me.

That's the thing I miss the most about my Culligan/plumbing job - end of the day was the END OF THE DAY. No take home work, no take home stress. Less take home pay, but that isn't all it's cracked up to be anyway.

Worst job I ever had was cutting curbs and working concrete during the summer months in HS. The huge diamond saw was cool... until you used it and got saturated with concrete dust inside and out. The heat was bad because you had to wear complete coveralls and work boots and masks and helmets. And then you had to load all the cut concrete and equipment and haul it to the recycling yard and dump it. Made me appreciate my education though.

Got it from the store. I didn't know Body Glove made phone cases.
