How small of a child can use this effectively? May be perfect for my soon to be 8 year old.

My daughter was 8 when she started using a Genesis Original. She was a very skinny girl and had to work to pull it back but was able to play/compete in archery events. We bought this for her when she was nine and by then had no problems. I would think you would be ok. I think you can adjust the draw weight, but can't remember. If you are in the BCS area, you can take it for a spin.
