Regardless of how all this Fran stuff plays out...I think I've made my decision about McGee.

The guy is an incredible fighter and competitor. He will do anything to help this team get that next 1st down.

Having been a pure passer in H.S., you've got to know that he'd LOVE to wing it downfield the whole game...but he grits his teeth and does what he thinks is best for his team.

The man takes hits that would put an average QB out of the game and keeps on fighting for that extra 2 yards that will extend a drive. How many times have we seen him do that?

It's almost to the point where we take him for granted.

We haven't had a fighter like him since the Bucky days, and I've often hesitated to put McGee on that level. But no more. I'm putting him there right now.

McGee is now #1 in my book. Not only does he fight for his team on the field, but he fights for his team off the field as well. And he's not afraid to call "bullcrap" when necessary.

Bucky is my No. 1
But McGee is a close 2nd right now.

Man, we have had some good ones. Stephen is among them but I can't slight Bucky, Kevin or (showing my age) Ed Hargett. They are all winners and that's the point.

Bucky was when i was to young to know what was going on so mcgee is #1 to me. I have always hated when Qb's slide when someone gets within five yards of them, so in 05 against OU he put himself on a podium in my mind. A qb who could take a hit like the other 21 people on the field is way underrated.

Dustin Long (haha) - I do think he had poor timing coming here with Reggie though!

stephen is one hell of a player and person. I am honored to be called an Aggie along side of McGee, who represents our school the way he does. The guy is pure heart and you just have to respect the hell outta him for it.

Please don't mistake my categorization.

I'm not saying Stephen is the most talented Aggie QB.
Not saying he is the BEST of the Aggie QB's.
I'm saying, he's my favorite of the Aggie QB's.

-Most talented goes to Reggie McNeal.
-Best performer is a toss-up between Murray and Richardson.

Stephen wasn't calling out fans so much as stating his loyalty to his coach and the team. I love his compassion, heart and desire. The kid's got some serious stones and I love that about him.

He's one of my favorite all-time QBs because of this as well.

Bucky and Kevin Murray are my top 2. McGee is either 3 or 4 for me. I've gotten to see Bucky, Kevin, and McGee all play and Bucky was just incredible.

I gotta go with Reggie before the last half of his senior year. I just loved watching him.

If we're talking leadership with skill, I'd say Bucky, Murray & Pullig (in no particular order).

If we're talking pure raw leadership by toughness, you'd be hardpressed to out-bid our own Stephen McGee. I'm proud of the kid - he has heart

This statement is false. He only called out a handful of fans, and has said as much in interviews.

I can't think of a QB that has loved A&M more than McGee, in my lifetime. Bucky and McGee are the two biggest Ags we've ever had play for A&M, at least in my lifetime.

Still want JJ to get more reps. With the option, we have to think that McGee is going to get hurt sooner or later.

The kid's got stones...there's no doubting that!

go get 'em Stephen, and try rolling out more when you pass, seems to work better for you.

All AGGIE QB's are great! Stephen is Special because of his heart. Edd Hargett was like that. I really liked Reggie but he was too inconsistent with his many weapons. Anyone know RM's winning %?
