Once again...how many times do I have to say that I'm not bashing Fran's coaching abilities?? Stop cherry-picking my statements and read my whole post. There's a difference between hammering Fran and simply not understanding certain aspects of his play-calling. Apparently you don't get the distinction. That's not my problem.

I understand that pounding the ball is important in wearing down the defense. But we aren't weak at WR and TE. So not seeing those playmakers utilized puzzles me. That doesn't mean I'm blaming Fran...I'm just trying to understand his philosophy. And it's not as simple as "pound the ball and wear down the D".

I read posts from Aggies all the time on these boards that I disagree with...but try to refrain from arrogant and classless remarks towards them. Like saying they have "playstation 2" coaching abilites when it isn't even relevant.

Several certainly don't deserve their AG tags, and you know who you are.

Congrats to the 2006 team and coaching staff. They played hard all season, overcame adversity (sadly from within the Ag family), and show great promise for the future.

They certainly deserve our support.

I am more confident going into this bowl game (which ever one we are in) than 2 years ago going into the Cotton Bowl. This team is playing well together and showing some true grit. Coach Fran is responsible for the attitude of this team - and they are behind him 100%, therefore so should we.

Okay, TGCGT.

To win, a team must have character and cohesion. Part of this comes from recruiting, part from player development, but mostly from discipline. As clearly evidenced by the performance of the team this year, and what they have to say about their own coach, Fran delivered. More than that, he delivered with a very young team while under a magnifying glass that most of us could not tolerate. He never lost his composure until the very end, when he beat our arch-rival at their house -- something we almost NEVER do -- and his quarterback took the opportunity to express the team's affection for him. Then, he lost it. His team played all season with character and composure, a direct reflection of him.

That these things should be obvious to you, and because they don't seem to be, I had considered you beyond redemption. Thus, the cut to the chase scene. Perhaps I erred in haste. Perhaps you aren't like all of the other negative idiots that populate the board. If so, I humbly apologize.

Great post. I fear the same thing mentioned with Coach K. You have to give the guy time to build HIS program. We aren't 100% there yet. It realistically takes 6 years to fix problems like we had when he arrived.

If we cut him out early, I am worried that we will be kicking ourselves for letting a great coach get away because of our impatience as fans.

I agree. The player leadership is more mature than it was in 2004.

And seeing as how we've been in a lot of close games...I expect the bowl game to be more of the same.

This thread is a prime example of our Self-Loathing Aggie fan base.

They're not happy unless A&M is doing poorly. So they take even our good days and complain about things so they can feel good (or bad) about our school or team.

I am a pot banger - but I have put the pot away. Thanks TEAM and COACHES for the win and a chance at a 10 win season.

I will always be an Aggie and a fan, I will always expect our coaches to prepare our teams to compete at the highest level. I will always be proud to be an Ag.

I will try not to be a pot banger any more and stick to what I know - supporting my school and team and leave the x's and o's to the professionals (no promises).
