sports passes are $187.50 (i believe). divide that by 7 games and you come out with an average of $26.76.

moral of the story. get an effin sports pass and go to the games.

My OU 2004 Student "Guest" Ticket cost $75. They were good tickets too...40 yrd line second deck.

What kind of "student"- not an AGGIE- doesn't get a sportspass? This is the kind of student you get with all the new admissions stuff..where are you during a game, at the library, or gone home to mamas to do laundry?

i plan when i go home around our away games (depending how far they are).....my friends from home dont understand why i stay here so much

Yeah... the kinda student who comes from a family whose parents weren't privelaged enough to go to college, and have to work, to put themselves through school.

Not everyone has a silver spoon, like apparently you do, who can a) afford not to work b) afford to pay for entertainment that won't get to use.

Some students actually work at the restraunts that you and your family enjoy before or after the game, and thus, can't also be at the game.

I was very disappointed my first year at A&M to miss... Yell Practices... Games... Bonfire... and many activities... like going home, and being home for things like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

When I had to buy my HP28C... I couldn't pick up the phone to call mommy & daddy. I made the $212 missing Yell Practice and the Arkansas game.

So, quit preaching from your privelaged perch, and try asking your server if they would have preferred being at the game. You might tip them a little extra when you are in town, when you determine they are working to put themselves through school, and weren't as privelaged as you are!!

I think he is referring to having to work during those events.

I dont think anyone should claim that all students should have sportspasses, some students cannot afford them. HOWEVER, if a student doesnt have a sportspass because he cant afford it, then he probably is not going to be trying to by tickets to any football game.

If you cant afford a sportspass, sorry to hear that. If you just didnt get one...quit complaining about the price now.

yes... They were typically free to most students... however those that had to work, either couldn't get scheduled off, or often it came at the cost of NOT working, which meant the cost to attend would have been working, which would have provided income.

So, read it either way, if you want.

Also, as a student... you could often find people who weren't using their ticket, for one reason or another. So, to the less desireable games, say this season for ULaLa... Restraunts often have less people staffed, and others will go home for the weekend, and you can often get tickets for free.

Going to a big game... forget it.

I thought student tickets were half-price, with or without the pass... all the pass did was guarantee you a ticket.

Of course its been 10 years since I graduated (and 10 years since I started sniffing glue)...

Dude that's how much everyone besides students pay for these tickets. You aren't going to get any sorrow from me or any other alum who paid a high price for their season tickets.

we had some great thanksgivings, christmases, new years in BCS. moral of the story is that you can do both if you do a little work.

41greyst and DallasAg - I'm there with ya. I missed several games as an undergrad because I had to work. Some folks will never understand that, so no reason to try to convince them.

One thing to consider - from my experience those that had to work to pay for their education took things much more seriously and were infinitely more prepared for the real world than those that never had to experience juggling school/work.

It doesn't make missing A&M games any easier though.....

If the tickets are too expensive, don't buy tickets. If numbers dwindle, they will have to drop the prices. Otherwise, quit your *****ing.
