People, we are in the collegiate business of winning football games. You must step on others on your way out of the gutter. Would Army love to win? Hell yes they would, and that's what Coach Ross is prepping his team to do to us. We are in no position to take any team lightly, and especially one that lost to 2 BIG XII teams last year by a combined 17 points. Why? Those two teams (BU and Iowa State) either took us to overtime, or beat us by 4 TDs at home last season.


Do you believe for one second that Army sends well wishes to A&M this Saturday night, or that they want us to succeed in our game 3 endeavors?

These Army guys are still student athletes, that have made the choice to pass on a lot of things to enroll at Army and get a college education and play some football before their true military career begins.

Should we respect them? Yes

Should we tone down our Spirit of Aggieland just because they are a service academy? HELL NO

God bless them for what the boys at Army do, but lets get Coach Fran and the boys to do what they are suppose to do and that is...

The issue isn't with giving respect to the institution, it's about respecting the military branch in represents. You can say BTHO West Point, or BTHO Black Knights, but BTHO Army has a larger connotation that, especially given that this game is on TV, and many soldier will be watching or in attendance, would be in poor taste.

I don't know about you, raptor, but I'm not actually ON the team. It doesn't matter if you or I take Army lightly. Of course I want to beat the snot out of them. But I don't think it's unreasonable to change "Beat the hell..." We don't say "Beat the hell outta Houston." How else are we "toning down" for this game?

Have you ever watched an A&M game on TV? Rarely do the cameras ever stay on a section long enough to see an entire yell, and at most you hear them in the background, but only the trained ear of an Aggie can usually pick up which yell it is.

Beat the Hell is a traditional yell. But if you think it might send the Taliban some good vibes that an American institution hates our Army because of it, then why don't we just substitute it for Sky Rocket???

This is a GAME!!! It's not like we wish the United States Army would have the hell beat out of them. Get a grip. How many terrorists watch college football and use that as inspiration to attack the US? If we are going to be politically correct be that way across the board, not in specific cases. Last I checked, we aren't firing live cannon rounds at the opposing team or live ammunition at them. This is a GAME and has no bearing on how we actully feel about those who sacrafice so much to join and fight for our country. This school and it's fans have more respect for military servicemen/women than pretty much any other school in the nation

As a former military academy student they would not give a crap what we do. You should see the stuff that goes down when Army plays Navy. This ranks very low on anything of concern to them, to us, or to the media.
