Actually Brent Zwernemann wrote about this weeks ago, so it is of some concern to the media.

I say we make up for using the offensive yell by inviting them to go get a Happy Meal after the game.

T-A-M-C Army, Army!

As a USMA/West Point/Army grad, I will be very disappointed if my Ags don't yell "Beat The Hell Outa' Army". That is who A&M scheduled, that is who the team is playing, and that should be the yell. No one in the Army or in the country takes offense when USNA/Navy or USAFA/Air Force supporters yell beat Army. No one in their right mind will take offense when Ags Yell BTHOA.
If the yell is modified then all the political correctness nuts will have won and 9-11 will have claimed another victim as well.

Now I don't support running up the score on a Service Academy at the very end of the game like tceh did in their recent bowl game or doing excessive celebrations like their "bomb" during that game.

I expect every Ag on the field to be trying to BTHO their opponent across the line. The yell in the stands shouldn't reflect any different attitude. To do so would show the greatest disrespect possible.

BEAT THE HELL OUTTA ARMY!

I had the opportunity to attend the Notre Dame vs. Navy game in South Bend last fall. It was very classy to see Charlie Weiss talk about how hey won't treat this team like other teams. He spoke on how they wanted to win, but encouraged only rooting for Notre Dame nothing against Navy. Apparently it's something they always do, and it was very impressive seeing the respect the Notre Dame fans had for the Naval Academy. I hope our Ags are as classy as Notre Dame was taht weekend and understand that we're not just playing "another university."

Some people take offense to BTHO whoever we are playing.

I also find it funny when we yell BTHO Baylor and they yell back, THANK YOU!

it should also be noted that general lennox who just finished his term as superintendent of west point and was instrumental in moving this game had two sons go to a&m.

I kinda regard offending the media as a double-bonus. Since when did they start caring about how our military personnel feel? This is the same media that trashes our efforts to defend our country and protect democracy. The West-Pointers will have a great time in San Antone and I doubt anyone will go home feeling hurt and insulted by our yells. In fact, I think they have more in common with those of us who don't try to play the "p.c. card" and stick to our traditions. And who knows - maybe some protestors will come to the corps parade (which includes the Army guys, a Ft. Hood detachment and our Corps of Cadets) and stage a sit-in. Then we can beat the hell outta them alongside our new Army friends. Good-bull Ags.
