Dunno about shooting the cannon into doorms, but they shot a tennis ball full of lighter fluid into the crowd from the 1905 at the first yell my pisshead year. It looked like a comet flying across kyle, and when it hit someone in the head and made a little fireball, that looked really cool. I think everyone involved got their asses smoked..heh.

BTW, unless you are Abatt 95 or 98, you don't know **** about BQ's and donunts , just so you know.

I also got to run the bloody cross coughing up dried blood from a lung infection as a fish..that was a blast. I didn't fall out, I practically passed out on lap 4. I made it almost 2 miles at least. Freaking didn't want to cost the outfit points by playing the sick card.

Still gotta say it sucked having the Hockmoth and GM cords ripped from us in 95-96 for our little hell week incedent. We worked our asses off to win those..had the points, but were disqualified, we found out later.

Did anyone else pour acetone down the stairs and light it during dead week? Also did anyone else launch water balloons across the drill field to hit unsuspecting pedestrians?

I made my 1.5 time in 12:18 this morning, its not good, but its better, and under the 12:30 mark thats required. Still need to make that 7 minute mile though.

You will be suprised how well you can run and how many pushups you can do when it is with a group. If you are doing this now, you will be in good shape when the real thing comes down. Most of the new cadets ignore the "advice" of getting into some sort of shape before hand.

Hollywood,

You’re going to have to give me a hint about who you are… My guess is your initials are RN. Russell looks like Peter Griffin from the family guy LOL, and Michael and John P don’t look like they have changed a bit.

Nadar Baja (about to be a daddy) is always talking about trying to get everybody together sometime and have a BBQ or something in Dallas. Almost impossible task, but it’s worth a try.

Damn BQ's, in my four years in the Corps I never once got a single donut, especially not a chocolate donut, during morning chow. I swear to God they swarmed over the donuts until every last one was gone so that the 1st Regiment couldnt have any.

While your friend may not have slept with her upperclassmen, it does happen. I would venture to say less in the band than other outfits, but I can not say anything for a fact. I do know of a Wag that was being somewhat passed around Northside last year, which is not upperclassmen but she was still doing it as a stress relieft activity.

Mookie: Thanks

Gavboy: You might want to put in for a name change on TexAgs

I am betting there is some A-Co pisshead lurking that will figure out who you are and give you crap as long as 09 is in your name.

Street Fighter - here's your hint. The only reedsucker and the only Army fish to make it to Spring '89. GEN Noriega started as AF, although he's a Major is the US Army now. One last give away. When you lived in 11-420, I lived in 11-421 next door. I could never brush my teeth before going to bed because as soon as I hit the squeaky water pipe, Theo would burst through the door.

So then your initials would be GB?????

As for bagging a wag, Theo tried to bag T Jones our fish year in Lubbock, but Doug and I saved his ass. Must have been something in that Tech water.

Did DA get to take those girls home for his B-Day?

Hollywood,

are you from the "Bird on a Hat" era?

I'm B-Co '98 and our CO c/o sold us on that legend enough that we resurrected it for our fish year.

We had the fastest Bloody Cross time but lost out b/c we had too many pukes that couldn't keep the pace.

He went back to Lubbock with fish Hicks.

Here's your last hint - 1st Platoon
Mark was my dad, Nader was my son. BTW - thanks for the entertainment value associated with constructing cryptic clues.

Yes. "Bird on the hat" started with a unique individual in the Class of '89. He wore it when they won Corps Bloody Cross in '88. My fish year/his Zip year, we only won Band Bloody Cross.

Actually, a certain "incedent" with A-Batt 98 was the last straw that got hell week ended for good, and we, even as the fish, were super pissed it was over..

Well crap, Gary did play sax LOL. If your not the Family Guy I am at a loss.

Now bird on a hat...Eric Vickery '89 seemed to have an affinity for things dead. One year at MTTB, he picked up a dead cat and assaulted the class of 90 with it hahahaha pure greatness. Anyway, you know how some people like to pin a feather in their cap? Well Eric decided it would be cool to put a whole freaking bird on his welding cap for good luck. He ran Bloody Cross with it maggots dropping out and all! As crazy as he sounds, Eric is a stand up guy and I see his legend lives on......

After perusing six pages of BQ stuff here, I can tell you what was an epiphany for me after I got out of A&M: You can get a degree anywhere - there's only one place you can be in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. Do it and enjoy it. Oh yeah - enjoy your time in the drum room. I was a snare my fish year, then bass drummer for two years. Being a drummer is absolutely the best way to experience the ultimate in Aggie Bandness.

Funny - back in the early 70's, nobody ever accused a BQ of over-utilizing the chow line, and we definitely had no briefcases. Hell, we even made fun of CT's riding bicycles to class!

Good luck, and as was previously mentioned, enjoy it while you can. One day you'll look up and realize it's been 35+ years since you first took up two tiles worth in the drum room, and more than half your fish buddies won't be there for your pis$head year.

They must have done it differently back then (but the "two tiles" bit has NOT changed). We had to play tenor drums (snares with the "snare" removed) our fish year if we weren't cymbals and only the lucky 3 became bass drummers their butt year. (Drum Corporal was almost always Arty Band Bass Drummer)

AggieRob93, now I've got to Social Engineer who you are Street Fighter - I get Family Guy a lot, right after Drew Carey. I've never heard of the American Dream - Dusty Rhodes, so that was a new one on me (thanks CBatt). I looked him up and I see the connection. I think I'm going to get a haircut this weekend.

I've had a lot of fun with this thread. My Rocker friends can't believe that I've recorded a CD, toured with a 300 piece band and played stadiums with 80,000+. In case you didn't know, I would say the Aggie Band prepares you for a career as a band tour manager. Check out this slideshow from my recent trip to Japan with my neighbor's band.

2 more hilarious things I just thought of (as I sit in IAH, waiting for my connecting flight)
1. FWIW - Roger Creager was my fish (glad to see he's come a long way since then)
2. The inventor of Bird on the Hat also did the most redass thing I've ever seen (that fine line between redass/dumbass) When we were leaving Stillwater, OK, he climbed out of the escape hatch on the top of the bus and started doing push-ups on top of the bus while we were stuck in traffic.
