I don't think there's anyway Bob McNair won't take vy #1 in the draft. Kid is from Houston & McNair wants to bring back the fans in Houston to the Texans. He'll sit vy next year and then they'll compete for the starting spot similar to Brees/Rivers in San Diego.

I think VY's career will ultimately amount to Steve McNair's career. It'll take about 4 years or so for him to adapt to the NFL and then, if he has talent, he'll compete well in the playoffs only to spend his final years in the league mostly injured. I do believe he'll have a fair amount of success but eventually he'll default to his own athletic ability too much and he will find terminal injuries like many other scramblers(Steve Young, Michael Vick, Steve McNair, etc.)

Don't forget about the Titans and the other McNair. Rumors from my friends there point to Tennessee really wanting him.

One poster got it right - Leinart was firing the ball to receivers that were covered, VY's were wide open. Did VY even compete a pass downfield all night? He took what USC gave him with the dinks and dunks, but I didn't see any long strikes last night. That is what the NFL is all about with the ridiculous pass interference calls they have in place. Why would mack have him do that - his job is to win games, not to develop VY's throwing motion. He would get that instruction in the NFL.

VY would be foolish to stay. That kind of money isn't always available and you have to take it when you get the chance. He doesn't owe the sips a damn thing and he needs to think about setting himself and his family up for life.
