Dude, lighten up a little. It was essentially a charity-type gift. Companies and individuals do this stuff all of the time. People even do it with their personal finances. I don't know how many times my wife and I have complained about needing to put more money in savings or wanting to sink more money into an investment, but can't do so because things are too tight.
The very next day, however, it's no big deal to put an extra $20 in the plate at church or buy an few extra boxes of Girl Scout Cookies or spend money on some worthless candle that the Little League kids are selling.

Great story, by the way. I am THRILLED that we have an athletic department staff that is interested in this sort of thing. If it means they have to spend $75 from time to time to make a young fan happey, then I'm 100% behind the idea.
