Are they saying that McGee will be the backup in 2006? Do they really expect Branyon to start over McGee?

Sounds like they expect Ty to start in 2006. Yup.

I believe Branyon was picked before McGee by the players who drafted teams for the spring game.

McGee will start in '06, and if you believe otherwise, then we need to talk.

Branyon will start, but McGee will be a good back-up, he's the future for A&M QB's.

Y'all are smoking the wrong stuff if you think Branyan is going to start over McGee when Reggie leaves. CFN doesn't know squat, and is simply putting them in seniority sequence without having a clue who can play better.

Personally I do not care which one starts. Just as long as the best player starts. I believe in competition, what is done on the field ILO the papers. If the starter is determined based on this, I have no problem w/either one.

CFN has to cover so many teams, that most of their info is vague and not 100% accurate.

It's possible that McGee plays second fiddle to Branyon in '06, but like a previous poster said...Fran will start the best player.

I think Dave will have more info than the jacka$$es writing for CFN on this topic.... but Branyon as the starter is a possibility.

Don't forget that Schaeffer may be here as well. It is WAY too early to discuss who starts in '06.

So the writer at CFN states a prediction that some Aggie fans agree with and other Aggie fans don't. Sounds like his statement is just as legit as any other.

Branyon still has more experience than McGee. While McGee has the better physical ability, that doesn't necessarily make him a better QB. It's about time Branyon starts to get some credit from the fans for being a good QB. I hope both QBs get ample time this year to show what they can do.

Some of you guys really need to calm down about stephen mcgee. The kid has yet to play a down of D1 football and has yet to show signs of being some savior that some of you think he will be. Say what you want but right now ty branyon is the number two and thats fact not opinion. You can read into that or take it however you want.

For as many teams as they cover, I was impressed with the depth of thier knowledge about our team. Other than the Qb thing, i was puzzled about the raving over our o-line. The o-line is my second biggest worry next to the secondary...who has it wrong, me or them?

Actually 65532, it is NOT fact. They are listed as co-number 2's on the depth chart, unless that changed without my knowledge. I'll stand by my statement that anyone who thinks Branyon will start over McGee is crazy. Obviously anything is possible, but I just think you're kidding yourself if you think McGee won't start.

im not saying he wont start by any means. Im just saying that some of you really are ahead of yourselves with mcgee. Ty branyon is a good QB and there is no reason that i can think of why he cant compete for the starting job in 06. You are the ones that are crazy for chalking up starters that havent even played and for the most part havent proven that they should start. The only reason why most of you are writing off branyon is because he is a walk on but you are mistakened if you think he is some scrub. This kid is good and yes he may even be better than mcgee.

I know 99% of you ain't going to agree with this statement, but I wasn't that impressed with Branyon in the OU game and if McGee doesn't beat him out by 2006 then we are in trouble.

Ty will make a great back-up, but the arm strength just isn't there. I think he benefitted from fresh legs when he came in late against OU, and if I remember correctly he didn't complete but maybe one pass after his first drive.
