As BeaumontCoke mentioned, my alma mater, Silsbee, plays it. They don't play hullaballo caneck caneck, though. I think Nederland does.

Ask Raptor for the words to Robinson's school song.

Doesn't Consol use some version of the War Hymn on speed?

What words were used by the schools that used the war hymn as their fight song?

A&M Consolidated's fight song is "eye of the tiger" but while I was a student there they did play some of the music taken from the Aggie Band

I went to Roswell, NM High my soph year. Our fight song was Onward Roswell to the tune of On Wisconson.

As far as I know, our (Grapeland HS) version didn't have any words. Go figure.

The Oakridge School, a private school in Arlington, TX plays the war hymn before football games.
I don't know why but I think it's just because the teacher in the booth who calls the game went to A&M. But they still play it.
(the actual school song is to the tune of Canada's national anthem)

Chilton used to use the War Hymn. My wife is from there.

My old high school had a longer version of Patton as the"Spirit" song but we used THe Cassion Song as the fight song.

Pretty sure the Elgin Wildcats use it too.

That's true, which is why you heard it in the movie "Varsity Blues." Most of that movie was shot in Elgin.

Norman, I think everyone in that district uses On Wisconsin. I went to Carlsbad and they use it. I dont remember Hobbs or Clovis for the life of me though. And now that they've made AAAAA in NM I think Las Cruces High is a district game.

The high school I graduated from in San Diego, CA, used USC's fight song. The high school I attended before that one in Niceville, FL, had a completely original fight song as far as I know. I did a google search and found that the writer of the song also wrote the fight song for the rival high school, so props to both schools for originality. (Plus, it would have sucked to hear the Florida St. fight song over and over again).

My HS (Bixby, OK) used the tired old ND fight song-so did half the other schools in our district. Nothing quite like hearing both bands playing the same song.
Never heard anyone playing the War Hymn but I don't think I ever heard boomer sooner as a HS fight song either.

A&M Consolidated has another fight song besides Eye of the Tiger, which we in the band knew simply as "the Fight Song." We played the Eye whenever the team entered the field before the game and at halftime. One year when we were beating the crap out of Huntsville really bad we started playing the Eye after we scored just so we wouldn't get bored of the Fight Song.

My freshman year we had the music to the War Hymn but never played it. Didn't see it the next 3 years.

Also, Ferris High School apparently uses the Eyes of Texas as their school song and the War Hymn as their fight song.

Kerrville Tivy used to play the War Hymn. At least they did when we (Brownwood) played them back in the day. We played that always inspiring "Minnesota Rouser". Go figure...

Stratford Academy (Macon, GA) uses the Michigan song but plays Noble men of Kyle on occasion.

More likely, you just aren't aware of where it was ripped off from. There are very, very few unique fight songs in use.

Cecil77, my junior high fight song was written (ie copywrite held) by my band director. So yes, it was an original. My high school fight song was also composed by a former director, so there are still schools in Texas that didn't rip off colleges.

I could be way off here, but if I'm not mistaken, I believe Fairfield also uses the War Hymn. I know they march military style. I had a friend who was the drum major there a few years ago, and I want to think that they used the War Hymn as a fight song.
