You guys are drama queens...the fans weren't bad. I didn't hear a single thing on the way out to my car and the on field taunting was NOTHING to write on here about.

Tim,

Guess I just got lucky. I never heard a thing that made me think they were anything like the jerks that I encountered last time I was in Waco for a game.

I saw exactly the same things and had tons of profanity and lewd gestures directed at me. I am old and was just trying to get to the car. Unfortunately we were parked near the Baylor Student section. We were in R and the bad stuff was right in front of us. These were faces filled with hatred not joy. The BIG majority were just in the middle of the field celebrating, but in total about 40 or 50 were threatening. I was afraid a fight would break out and I would be trapped in the middle of it. Luckily the Aggies had great restraint and did not respond. There was no stadium security in our vicinity.

Again--this was in front of R and T. I think most of the rest of the stadium even had security officers.

What a load of BS. If this was a game in Aggieland and the Ags had just beaten tu after losing for 20 years in a row and had peformed the same exact acts, 3GA would write some sappy recap of the days events and everyone would post the thumbs up about what a grand showcase of pride the Aggies had just put on for the world.

Some of you need to get a life or just take off you maroon tinted glasses. Fearing for your life at a Baylor game? Not a chance. No matter where you were in the stadium. So 40 idiots out of a crowd of 41,000+ and you are scared for your life? You really should get out more. We all know the events in Lubbock are legendary. tu has a fair share of crazies when the Aggies come to town. But Waco is not a place where the Aggies are worried about what might happen outside of the stadium.

I thought the fans ran out onto the field after the Colorado game... It hasn't been THAT long since we've beat Colorado, even if we never had at Kyle before.

I completely agree with 12th Man Ag. Even in defeat you people are still trying to give baylor the "high & mighty treatment." Give it a rest. They beat us, let them enjoy it. I also think it's cool as hell that they gave pieces of the goal post to their students.

The fans weren't that bad. Its a huge win for them, let them have fun at our expense for once. Had our team shown up we wouldn't have this problem!

I've been to 11 of the past 17 losses/tie to A&M. In 1990, an Ag mooned the Baylor section from the upper deck. In 1994, six cars in a row next to mine were vandalized with broken windows. Both of these games were at Kyle. I've enjoyed most of my experiences at Kyle, but I've also had my share of 12th Man towels shoved in my face and trash talked to me.

Don't think you have a monopoly on class. There are good and bad fans at every school. If you had lost 18 straight to t.u., there would be some serious celebrating and revelry and you wouldn't give a crap what was said to sip fans - and you know it's true.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
there is an age old solution to all this from the aggie perspective...just win the game and none of this happens.

I will add this though...this is why the players and coaches better feel some responsibility for a pathetic effort in Waco...because their terrible play resulted in some of their fans having bad experiences and perhaps being mistreated.

I witnessed nothing embarrassing or insulting from the Baylor fans. I sat near a bunch of Baylor folks and they were very classy. A couple even came up to me afterwards when I was obviously grieving and said kind words. Hell, they even stood and watched our band before leaving at halftime. We have to expect to get ridiculed from opposing fans. I love the Ags, the corps and the traditions but 90% of what we do is completely misunderstood by nonAgs. Thanks for being good hosts Baylor.

Fans came out at Colorado after the players left the field like they do for every game, which they are allowed to do since BB has been here. The Nebraska 98 game, however, definately had a large number of students jump the wall immmediately after the final whistle.

"constant chants of "aggies suck" behind us the entire second half."

Gasp. Not "aggies suck"...

The humanity of those monsters, the audacity to say aggies suck.

Much different than saying our school song sounds like hell when you are losing to the aforementioned Baylor Bears. Silly me....

Have you ever been to Tech?!?!? They are not even close. There are a-holes at every school, including A&M, unfortunately. I think a majority A&M fans definitely make more of a conscious effort to be respectful and gracious. Baylor has a high school game atmosphere, thats why there is an occansional taunt, cuss word, mocking losing team, disrespecting the band, etc. I remember doing those things in HS, fortunately i grew up and learned better. I would say they are just your average college football fans....we are way above average. I think we should take a humble pride in our ways, and worry less about other fans not acting like us.

"Yes there are always a few bad apples, but in general, the vast majority of Aggie fans are not going to be running around taunting people, throwing things, pulling down goalposts, yelling obscenities, etc."

Yes, there are always a few bad apples, but in general, the vast majority of Baylor fans are not going to be running around taunting people, throwing things, yelling obscenities, etc.

Just because a couple guys yelled at you or whatever isn't a reason to label Baylor fans as *******s. That's stupid, even mindless.

There are other Aggies on this board saying how well they are treated, and in stereotypical Aggie fashion they are dutifully ignored as to not get in the way of the preferred negative mob mindset.

I was in section LL for the game, sitting with 5 of my Baylor friends and my fiance (an Aggie) and a dozen of her friends that I got into the game. I won't talk about the Ag behavior prior to the game, but following the game everyone was on their best behavior. The Ags around me sat in silence or quietly walked out of the stadium. None of my fiance's friends said anything about rude Baylor fans, and my fiance didn't experience anything like what is being described here.

I did see about half a dozen idiots run down on the field in front of the Aggie Band and yell some stuff and then run back to the goalposts, for which I apologized to the Ags around me.

Yes, there are idiots that get a little out of control, but you must really be delusional to even approach thinking you might be in danger. That's insane.

Good luck next week against OU. I think you have a real shot at beating them and probably winning 2 of your next three. Again, good luck.

Judge one last time. The reason I felt uncomfortable was the lack of security officers. Yes, most of your fans were on the field having a celebration and having a good time. A few were in front of our section taunting. All it would have taken was one or two Aggies losing control and responding to those taunts and a mob type fight could have started. There were zero security people in front of our area. To me that is a great potential threat. I could not understand Baylor not having officers positioned at least in front of the Band. The problems going to the car were because were were parked in the middle of the student parking--not on purpose but because the stadium cops had sent us into that lot--would not let us park elsewhere. It was largely unlit, and again there were also NO visible security officers in the parking area. I was with my brother and his wife, but it was not a place I, as a middle aged at best woman, would have felt comfortable if I had been alone.

I personally LIKE seeing those officers. The older baylor people on the way to the car were fine. That rudeness was purely from students and sadly mainly girls.

We were not the only people uneasy in the stands. Several in our area--and most on those first three rows were grey haired in age--commented that we hoped the students behind us stayed calm because it would not take much to start something.

I have never justified taunting on either side. Or at high school game which I attend every Friday. I never talk smack. I was taught that you always yell FOR your team not against the other team. On the few times students have tried it around me at school, I ask them "When have you ever heard me say anything about about another school that was not positive?" They think a minute and usually apologize and start back yelling for our team. My concern was that Baylor did not provide enough stadium security in our area to feel safe given the potential for a brawl to have started. We just wanted to have yell practice so we could leave. We were doing nothing to provoke a problem except sitting there. It was a potentially explosive situation and I did not feel safe. Not life threatening except for my brother's heart condition. But the thought of being anywhere close to a fight turns my stomach.

The big difference is that at Kyle there are many, many, uniformed law enforcement highly visible as well as additional event staff hired just for the game. They are also stationed at street crossings and parking lot entrances and exits after the game. I always feel that if I had a problem, help is readily at hand.
Again, everyone sitted elsewhere said the fans were nice. I believe them. In R and T we had the vulgar taunts that could easily have started something. If you saw it from across the field you know what I mean. It would have only taken one or two Aggie hotheads--and we have them, deciding to shut those taunters up, and a brawl would have ensued.

The General got down on the track with the yell leaders when they finally had yell practice. I think he was somewhat concerned about the same thing because this is not customary. I think it was the Commandant of the Corps, but I don't now for sure. The man was built like a bulldozer, had a chest full for medals and several stars. He had an intimidating military bearing.

They just beat a Top 20 team that had more fans than they did in their stadium. Of course, they're going to be fired up, especially when they only win one B12 game per year. Would you really expect anything else? At least they didn't burn and overturn cars like BoSox fans did. Beating the Yankees is about as rare as the Bears beating A&M.

BTW, why do Aggies practice yells after a game? Isn't before a game the time to "practice"?

Ags have yell practice after being outscored for the next game because they obviously did not yell loud enough to win the one that just finished. This is logical and I believe started back when wins were pretty scarce. That being said, it's none of anyone else's business if we want to have yell practice at any time. Just go away if you don't like it.

BTW, re: complete sentences in the Whitehouse. It's easier when you're talking out of both sides of your mouth and flip-flopping the whole time. There are many more words to say when one is being dishonest so that the sentences may appear complete. The man lies!

3rd Generation Ag must have been at a different game than I was. Why is it every time we lose we start criticizing the opponent's fans? It was a huge win and they enjoyed themselves and partied. No looting, no cars on fire, no major fights. 3rd Generation acts like she was in downtown Baghdad or something.
They won. They outplayed us. They celebrated. End of story.

Was there and got nothing but good game from any Baylor fans I passed on the way out later that evening....Isn't it us that sit around telling people that a hand full of fans doesn't make up the whole school???

Sounds like General Van Alstyne, Commandant of the Corps. I probably would've said a fireplug, not very tall, but solid.....and he can move very fast without seeming to.

Let's just say it has been a hard week at work because everybody has come by and rubbed it in. Let them enjoy their win...heck even a blind dog will find a bone every now and then. Like I tell them, I wish them luck but next year (and there is always next year) if we bet them 100 - 0 I don't want o hear them whine to me about running up the score. =)

Now on to beating up on OU. Thanks and Gig' Em.

Look, I never said I felt threatened in any way. But is it really necessary to curse someone out who isn't saying a word just because they are a fan of the other team? I certainly didn't hear any new words or phrases and I am not scarred for life or anything like that. They had every right to celebrate, but the taunting incidents were unnecessary and uncalled for. I guess I just expected a little more from the holy rollers. It certainly won't keep me from going to another game there. The point is, don't judge us for our comments if you weren't there. If you were there and didn't experience anything like this, then great for you. But don't tell me that it didn't happen to me.

So you are saying it's OK not to be classy if it's a big game? Yeah... got it.

Those of you who are surprised that Baylor fans are rude are either too young or have a short memory.

You are wrong. I have been at games where we beat t.u., back in the days when we never beat t.u. We did not act that way. It seemed like there were always a few who tried to start "Poor teasips," but it was quickly squelched.

Good grief! Talk about the need to grow a thicker skin; it’s a wonder any of you class police have ever survived a tu or more so, an LSU game. It’s freaking college football! Fans are passionate and are going to talk trash, etc…from time to time….that’s a fact you should know by now.

All this ninny wailing and grinding of teeth about being flipped off and taunted is pathetic. You need to learn to take that crap with a grain of salt and try and have fun with it.

As we were walking out we saw an older man yelling "Aggies Suck" - he was shaking and saying it over and over. My husband stopped and asked if he was alright - he just kept repeating himself.

On another note - my 5 year old couldn't understand why they were tearing down the goalposts...he kept saying "what in the world". Then he said "this is the worstest day of my life because we lost" -- he has no idea!

BillBrasky got it right:

"Baylor has a high school game atmosphere."

Their favorite cheer last time I was there was "Beat - The - Aggies!" repeated again and again. They hate us, and I'm cool with that. But they hate us the same way a toddler "hates" his mommy. He relishes the small victories, like jumping on the bed, and never even dreams that he could steal a car or burn the house down. Well, for Baylor, last Saturday night was their ultimate coup, their great victory. How could they possibly know how to act? Congrats to them, and quit complaining about their fans.

I had some bear-clad fans behind me in the north zone and the whole game the guy's stupid son (about 3-4 yr old) was kicking me and leaning against me and after several evil eyes then finally a "could you please control your kid" the dad said in a somber voice "now son, don't put your feet on people" which was quickly followed by an even stronger kick that the kid giggled and looked at me. I was so ******* pissed at that point the game was just a foot-note.
