Marcel has the arm of Bucky and the legs of Tannehill (actually Tannehill has a higher YPC)

If you guys want a true comp for Marcel in aggie history it's Mike Moseley - back up QB that became starter then struggled and was drafted as a WR. Marcel should change positions.

Last year's team was absolutely LOADED with talent and the easiest schedule in decades! Give us a slightly above average Quarterback instead of Reed and the Ags play Indiana in the National title game.

I am here to once again say that you guys need to stop with the "A&M had a cupcake schedule" narrative that the media force fed you.

We beat a great ND team on the road. We beat an Auburn team that would've been 4-0 if the refs hadn't saved OU the previous week by allowing a TD on a cheating play. We beat a 4-1 MSST team whose season fell apart largely because we broke their star RB. Florida was bad, but we crushed them. Survive a rivalry game on the road at Arkansas. Doubled LSU's score in death valley (the whole sports media said it was impossible). Beat a 6-2 Mizzou team on the road. Everyone starts slow on South Carolina, but unlike a lot of other teams, we got it together to win in the 2nd half. The reason that all of the teams we played were in the bottom half of the SEC is because we put them there.

What we played was no easier than Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tech, Indiana, Oregon.

But was it even the easiest schedule we had in a decade? No, not even. 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022 were not harder schedules.

Marcel has the body of a point guard. His body couldn't take the rigors of the NFL

Rewriting history is definitely a sunshine bumper skill. You have it in spades sir!

Elko started it by saying to the press that Marcel had to be more consistent. And the media ran with it. He should own his own stupidity on saying the quiet part aloud…

Bucky made plays.

Reed throws the ball into the dirt and laughs on the sidelines.

Even this season Marcel is close to 10% more accurate than Bucky's career average.

Bucky averaged 45.5 on the ground and 66.1 yards through the air with a 48.4 completion % while throwing 14 TDs to 23 picks over 46 games. 111.6 total yards per game against the SWC. Over 4 seasons he only had to play against 4 other conference teams that finished the season ranked, which undoubtedly helped bump him to over 100 total combined ypg.

'87 No one else
'88 Arkansas and UH finished 12 and 18
'90 Texas and UH finished 12 and 10
'91 No one else.

Bucky had mostly mid to bad career stats against horrific competition but gets a ton of credit for the team wins, while Reed has far better numbers against vastly superior comp. but gets a ton of credit for the losses.

Okay. So you want everyone to start ragging on Bucky for his play 35-40 years ago? Is that the angle? Seems pretty irrelevant and there are few takers around here. Bucky was one of the great competitors in A&M football history. The 1990 offense was record setting for many reasons including Bucky. I doubt you'll find anything during those years compared to, for example, the ineptitude of the Mizzou game this year.

Bucky was a run first option QB, and he was 100x the leader, competitor and athlete Reed is. Comparing Buck passing stats to Reed is immaterial.

I'd take Calzada on his worst day over Reed, that is how bad Reed is.

Can't believe I agree with this. I would have laughed at this comment last year at this time.
